Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

It has been claimed that new CHELSEA boss Enzo Maresca has told the club that he would like Jules Kounde signed from Barcelona

Kounde is a player that Chelsea have been linked with ever since his days with Sevilla – but have never been able to convince the Frenchman that a move to the Premier League is one he needs to make.

However – Kounde’s future in Spain now looks uncertain as the Spaniards are going to sell a number of players in the coming transfer window in hope that they can freshen up the side after a disappointing campaign.

He has already attracted interest from several European giants including Paris Saint-Germain, Inter and Manchester United

But now reports in Spain have claimed that Enzo Maresca has personally asked the board to sign Kounde from Barcelona as the Frenchman star fits the style of play that he would like to employ at Stamford Bridge.

CHELSEA allowed Thiago Silva to leave the club and head back to Brazil – so they will need to sign a ready-made replacement for the world class act.

But Kounde is a man that they have wanted for some time and is a player that could be one of the best – he would be a brilliant signing.

However – despite all the speculation and all the rumours – we would be very surprised to see him actually depart the Spanish giants and fully expect him to stay as he has shown no real desire to want to depart the Camp Nou, or even play in the Premier League.

But – in the world of football anything could happen and the right offer could get him all signed up by CHELSEA, if they actually want the man.

KELLEHER PRICE SET

Reporter Iomie Stanley has come out and encouraged the Blues to make a move for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher at the end of the season, amid reports that the Blues can sign the stopper for £35 million.

LIVERPOOL made the big decision in the summer to wrap up the signing of Mamardashvili amid all the speculation over the long-term future of Alisson, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for months.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are reluctant to sell Kelleher to a direct rival but would still likely accept an offer in the region of £35million.

Kelleher has made no secret of his desire to be the first-choice goalkeeper somewhere after spending the past five and a half seasons as a back-up option behind Alisson Becker.

It is no secret that CHELSEA are looking at adding a new stopper to the side in the upcoming transfer window, and now Stanley has opened up and shockingly claimed that the board should raid Liverpool for the 25-year old.

He was quoted: “What was really evident to me so far this season was that Chelsea’s No. 1 isn’t as good as Liverpool’s No. 2. Whenever I see Kelleher play, he looks top drawer.

‘Whenever Kelleher’s in goal and he’s played a lot in the last few months, he never looks out of place when he has to come in for Alisson and do a job.

‘Liverpool don’t look any weaker with him in goal and that is a massive compliment by the way. If you’re a Liverpool fan, I know you’ve got [Giorgi] Mamardashvili coming in, but you don’t want Kelleher to go either. He’s too good to be a No. 2.

‘Chelsea want a proven stopper that will increase in value in the coming seasons, Kelleher could be that man.’

Kelleher is a very decent stopper that wants to play and it is a shame that he does want to leave the club as he has been a decent servant for Liverpool – but now is the right time to depart.

But despite being urged by Cundy to make a move – we simply cannot see the stopper moving to CHELSEA .

MBEUMO PRICE SET

Brentford have slapped an asking price of £60m on Bryan Mbeumo as he continues to be linked with the likes of CHELSEA, Arsenal and Liverpool after an impressive start to the new Premier League season for the attacker.

Chelsea started the new season in fine fashion with many tipping the Blues to get back into those Champions League places, although there has been some dodgy performances for Enzo Maresca’s side this campaign.

The Blues have struggled in front of goal at times this season, with Nicolas Jackson not scoring the goals that the club would like and Christopher Nkunku only getting real minutes in Europe, leading to reports that Mbeumo is a player that the club are very much interested in signing.

What is the Latest?

Only Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has more goals than Mbeumo so far this season and reports say his form has caught the eye of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Given the growing interest in Mbeumo, Brentford are planning to tie him down until the summer of 2027 but are reportedly open to selling if a club makes an offer in the region of £60m According to Fichajes.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has recently tipped Mbeumo to join a ‘bigger club’ at some stage: ‘He’s added another layer this year,’ he said earlier in the season. ‘I’m convinced one day he’ll play for a bigger club.

‘I’d definitely buy him if I were at a bigger club. That said, he’s very happy here.’

CHELSEA are lacking a 30 goals a season striker, they have a quality attack, but that is what they are missing. Mbeumo is having a great start to the new season, but for the kind of money that the Blues would have to pay, they may aswell go out and get Viktor Gyokeres.
