Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews.com
Unai Emery believes Arsenal have found the ‘perfect’ manager in his successor Mikel Arteta.
After months and months AND MONTHS of speculation, Arsenal finally made the big decision to give Emery the boot after 18 months in charge of the club, and bring in Arteta as his successor, despite the fact that the Spaniard ha snow managerial experience at the top of the game.
But he has brought hope and optimism back to the club and after Arsenal managed to keep hold of their biggest players while adding a couple of new faces, Emery has come out and claimed that ARSENAL have now found the perfect man to replace him.
“Mikel has a lot of experience as a footballer and has worked alongside Pep [Guardiola], who is top,” Emery said on the Talksport websit.
“It fits perfectly in the figure of Arsenal coach. He is playing a 4-2-3-1, like ours.
“Ozil is still ’10’, and is slowly looking for his identity. He is a very good player, that is clear. But physical conditions are high in the Premier League.
“At times, Arsenal with him plays better. But other times it doesn’t make so many differences.”
Emery has not ruled out returning to England in the future, saying: “Football is unpredictable
“A team may love you today, three months go by, and it doesn’t love you anymore.
“To France, with the French I learned, I can return. To England, too. To Spain.
“Germany is the only place where I find it difficult to work. In Italy, years ago, teams have loved me.
“You never know, but this break is good for me.”
Mikel Arteta should look to partner William Saliba with a proven Premier league defender next season, and Arsenal should try and sign Lewis Dunk.
Ex-Gunners boss Uani emery was linked with a whole host of players during the summer transfer window, and many fans were excited to see what kind of players that the Spaniard would bring in to make a real statement to the Premier League and rest of the top four challengers.
But despite all the excitement, despite all the rumours and despite all the speculation, the Spaniard failed to acquire the type of players that could come in and make a serious impact on the side, and send a real statement to the rest of the Premier League.
Arteta has now seen a lot of speculation and rumours about possible signings last month, as he seriously needs to improve the side that he inherited from Emery, and he finally managed to secure loan deals for both Cedrik Soares and Pablo Mari.
But at the end of this season Arsenal will see William Saliba, who is currently on loan at St-Etienne, return to the club and try to help solve the defensive issues at the back, as the lad is regarded as a fine talent across Europe.
But he is only 18-years of age and needs an experienced partner next to him, and despite being linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, Arsenal should make a move for the impressive Dunk.
Arsenal target Kalidou Koulibaly has decided that he wants to stay at Napoli until the summer, and the Gunners should make a move.
ARSENAL were once again in the transfer headlines on a daily basis about possible arrivals and possible departures, as it seemed that everyone of their players were linked with a move away, while every player was linked with a move London.
And one name that was high up on the shopping list of Gunners boss is that of Kouliably, who is easily regarded as one of the finest central defenders in Seria A, and around Europe.
Koulibaly has been outstanding for Napoli over the past few seasons and his performances has attracted all sorts of interest from the games biggest clubs, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and even Barcelona all joining Arsenal in the chase for the defenders signature.
However, reports on deadline day claimed that he has decided that he will not leave Napoli this month and would much rather wait until the summer transfer window.
Strong, classy and composed, the 28-year-old is rightly considered world-class and would be a major statement of intent from Arteta in his quest to get the club back challenging for more than a top four spot.
But now that the club have managed to secure deals for Pablo Mari and Cedrik Soares, there will now be a feeling that Arteta will not look to improve the back-line at the end of the season.
But if he is to sign big time players, then he should start with the signing of Koulibaly as he could be the leader that the club are seeking, especially as they need to add a bit more experience to that back-line.
Mikel Arteta has revealed the Arsenal deals for defensive pair Cedrik Soares and Pablo Mari.
Once again there was a lot of transfer speculation in the media about possible deals for Arsenal and Arteta was expected to spend big money and acquire some players that would send a real statement to the Premier League.
However, the Spanish boss only managed to secure transfer deals for Mari and Soares, with both players arriving at the club for relatively cheap prices.
Mari joined initially on loan but the Gunners have an option to make the move a permanent one at the end of the season, while Cedric, who also arrives on loan, will offer experienced back-up to Hector Bellerin, who has struggled to maintain his fitness and find his best form since returning from a cruciate knee ligament injury that ruled him out for 10 months.
Explaining the move for Mari, Arteta said on the Sky Sports website: ‘For me he is very important he balances what I want to do from the backline, he gives us more options, more solutions and opens up the pitch more.
‘He is a player we have been following for a few months and we are delighted to have him here.’
The 26-year-old is eligible to make his debut at Burnley on Sunday but Arsenal fans will have to wait a little while longer to see their other new recruit in action after Arteta confirmed Cedric is still struggling with a foot injury. Nevertheless, Arteta is delighted to have the Portugal international on board, adding: ‘He is a player who has big experience, he’s played in this country and in different leagues.
‘He knows what it means. He has been very willing to go to another top club. He has that desire and that commitment. I followed him a few seasons ago and I really like what he can bring and it was the right conditions for us as well to try and improve the squad.
On his fitness he added: ‘He was being assessed yesterday and we will have more results today but he has a little issue and I don’t think he will be available to play.’
