Martin Odegaard announces ‘he is happy’ Arsenal has made big statement signing

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard admits that he is very happy to see the club make the move and sign Declan Rice.

The Gunners have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, sealing the £105m arrival of midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham, who became their third new arrival after the £40m capture of defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax and the £65m signing of attacker Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

It means that ARSENAL have spent over £200 million on new players in hope that they can beat Man City to that Premier League title next season – and Odegaard has been speaking on his new team-mates.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

The midfielder said: “With the signings we’ve made coming on top of what we did last year, expectations are naturally going to go up.

“We have to be ready for that extra pressure and deal with it and that’s what we’re going to do.

“I think we’ve made some great signings, great characters who bring good quality and good energy, so it’s important to make sure they settle in as quickly as possible.

“Every time I’ve played against Declan Rice I’ve seen his quality. We had some tough battles so I’m happy to have him on my side and hopefully we can find a good connection very quickly.

“He’s a leader as well so it’s great for me to work together and hopefully we can help each other a lot.”

GREAT SUMMER FOR ARSENAL – 

No matter what – this has been a massive summer for the club and they really have made some great signings – so Odegaard should be happy – Arsenal will be alot stronger than they were last season.
