Mauricio Pochettino decision made – tells board to wrap up Chelsea deals

Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea need to strengthen their squad in ‘all areas’ in the remainder of the transfer window.

Following a busy summer for CHELSEA, Conor Gallagher is one of just A HANDFUL central midfielders left at Stamford Bridge, alongside record-signing Enzo Fernandez and young trio Carney Chulwuemeka, Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei.

The likes of Mason Mount, Matteo Kovacic and Ngolo Kante are just some of the names that have already left the club for bigger wage packets – and it means that Chelsea will need to do some more deals over the next few weeks.

Now – Pochettino has opened up and revealed Chelsea need to strengthen their squad in ‘all areas’ in the remainder of the transfer window.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

The Blues have offloaded £250m worth of talent so far in the transfer window, with the club desperate to trim their squad after spending £600m in the previous two windows.

Asked specifically about strengthening in midfield, Pochettino said: ‘No, I told you that we need to improve in all the areas’

‘I am happy with the midfield but we also need to improve this area.’

Look, the business that CHELSEA have done is for the future and their long-term plans – but they need to make the next signing a big statement addition to the squad.

Pochettino knows what he wants to have in his side and it will be interesting to see who arrives – but they need to add experience now – there are too many talents at the club.

The club want success now – that is why Pochettino has been brought to the club – but he needs the players to do that and with a month left – it is time to get working and sign some statement names.
