Solskjaer sends Cavani message, Mbappe hails Rashford, Haaland makes transfer decision and Traore message sent in Manchester United roundup…

Edinson Cavani “still hasn’t ticked all the boxes” at Manchester United, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After months of speculation and rumours, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally managed to bring in a new striker to the club, after they offered free agent Cavani a big contract after he failed to secure a move after leaving PSG.

Questions have been asked of whether Cavani can deliver the goods in English football, but plenty are tipping him to make a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-style impact for United, and Solskjaer believes the former Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain star will prove to be a shrewd addition in time.

However, he admits he cannot be thrown in at the deep end before working on his match sharpness, as he has not ticked all the boxes just yet, he told the club website: “He’s naturally fit. He is fit enough but he needs to play football with the rest of the players and be in those kinds of situations.

“Of course, you can’t live on memory, really, because it’s been a while.

“He’s very thorough, professional and he knows what he needs and what he wants. He still hasn’t ticked all the boxes before he’s available to play.”

It will be very interesting to see just how much of an impact that Cavani can have in this Manchester United side as Solskjaer needs him to bang in the goals on a weekly basis.

Manchester United linked Erling Haaland has reportedly chosen his next move when he leaves Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland became one of the hottest properties in European football at Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the season, and The 19-year-old hit 28 goals in 22 matches across all competitions for the Austrian outfit.

That earned him a mega money move to Dortmund, where he has scored 16 goals in his first 18 outings for the German side, with his performances or the club firmly establishing him as one of the best in the game right now.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea, but it seems that United are ready to flex their financial power at the end of the season and make a move for the striker.

Reports have claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Haaland a key piece of the puzzle for United and is preparing to make a move at the end of the season, but they will now have a massive battle on their hands.

Reports on the Daily Express website have claimed that Haaland is more interested in making a move to La Liga when he leaves Dortmund and has chosen Real Madrid as the next club of his career.

The Spaniards are also keen on a deal and didnt make a move in the transfer window due to the Financial issues that COVID 19 has brought many clubs in Europe.

Wolves boss Nuno says flying winger Adama Traore is “delighted” to be at Molineux, with Manchester United and Barcelona linked with possible moves.

Over the last few seasons, Traore has truly developed into a dangerous winger that can cause some serious issues to most sides in the Premier League, with his performances catching the eyes of Barcelona and United

It would take big money to get a deal done, as Wolves have no interest in selling and are said to be in the process of thrashing out fresh terms with a prized asset on their books, and Nuno has suggested that an agreement will be reached in those discussions.

The Wolves boss was quoted on TalkSport: “What I can say about this is Adama is delighted to be here. You can see how happy he’s been in training just by seeing us be together again.

“Things will happen naturally. Speculation around our players doesn’t bother us.

“We know what we have to do. First of all, you have to be happy where you are, and he clearly is.”

“I watch all the matches our players are involved in – some of them live, some of them I record and watch all the minutes our players play,” Nuno added.

“I was delighted and really happy for Adama because he made his debut and he made his debut as a starter, so that shows the progress and the impact Adama had.

“I was delighted with all of our internationals – Daniel Podence made his debut for Portugal, Conor Coady scored for England.

“Some players didn’t have so many minutes as we would have wished because the international coaches made different decisions.

“I’m happy but at the same time worried and tremendously proud at the amount of international players we have at Wolves.

“We must feel proud as a squad and as a club because representing your national team is the best of the best in your own country so that says enough.

“It says a lot about the quality and the talent of the players we have, and the hard work that we put in.

“When we arrived we didn’t have so many internationals so the progression and the commitment of this group makes me hugely proud.”

Paul Pogba is a big fan of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford’s “special” talents, Kylian Mbappe has revealed.

Since breaking through as a teenager a few seasons ago, Rashford has developed into a deadly attacker for this Manchester United side and is constantly the best player on the pitch for the club.

World Cup-winning Frenchman Pogba has been aware of the potential in a Red Devils forward for some time, having graduated through the same Old Trafford academy system, and he been impressed by what he has seen from the England international, with a talented 22-year-old becoming a role model for millions with his efforts on and off the field.

And Mbappe, who is about to face Rashford in the Champions League as Paris Saint-Germain prepare to play host to United, is another member of the Red Devils winger’s ever-growing fan club.

Mbappe told reporters ahead of a continental clash with Rashford: “He’s one of the most dangerous forward players in England.

“Paul Pogba has spoken about how special he is and he doesn’t talk about players in such a way often.

“When you take a penalty in that situation, how much practice you have put on the training ground doesn’t matter. It’s about confidence and he’s a player who plays with so much confidence.”

It is high praise for Rashford to see two of the very best players in the game be such a fan of his talents, he has earned them over the past few seasons and fully deserves all the plaudits he gets on and off the field.
