Kylian Mbappe heaps special praise on £50M Arsenal transfer target

Arsenal transfer target Youssouf Fofana has earned some high praise form Kylian Mbappe

After an impressive season in France – Fofana is a player that ARSENAL are very much interested in signing as Mikel Arteta wants to add some more depth to that midfield that he has.

Fofana has talked up the chances of a move away from Monaco this summer and now he has had some high praise from his French teammate Mbappe – Speaking to Ouest-France, the Real Madrid star said:

“Youssouf, I’ve known him for a really long time. We were at the INF at the same time, he appeared in the promotion below, that of 1999. His story and his CV speak for him.

“Realize: this is a guy who was at Clairefontaine and who didn’t find a club to train at afterwards. So he had to return home. It’s the ultimate humiliation for a young footballer. Honestly, when you go to Clairefontaine, you never imagine the scenario he faced.

“The guy went through the struggle, the real one. And he never gave up, until he saw him in Blue. His story is magnificent. Incredible. I think he’s one of the most deserving players on this team. I take my hat off to him.

“Once again, these journeys are much more inspiring for young people, because they are closer to their reality. The guy delivered pizzas at one point, but he never gave up his dream of playing football. Never. And today he is at the door of the biggest European clubs.

“In blue, he went to find his place. I remember that he started with us because there were a lot of injured people. Honestly, I said to myself: “He’s coming, then he’s going to leave.” The guy is still there (smile).

“He started in the semi-final of the World Cup, he entered the final. In the group, he’s super important, very happy, very quiet, too.

“He’s starting to find his place, it’s really good for him. I really have a special pride when I see everything he went through.”
