Chelsea fans will love what Mbappe has said about new superstar signing

Thiago Silva is the best defender Kylian Mbappe played with at Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman has told Chelsea fans

Frank Lampard was desperate to spend some money this summer and bring in a leader at the back, but he managed to save a big of cash and land Silva on a fresh transfer after he decided to leave PSG at the end of last season.

The Brazilian may be 33-years of age, but he brings experience, quality and leadership at the back that the club have been lacking for a good few seasons now, and Lampard knew that he needed to sign a player like Silva to help improve the clubs chances of winning that Premier League title.

The Chelsea back-line look alot more solid with him in the defence and after another solid display against Manchester United at the weekend, Mbappe has heaped praise on the new Chelsea star, praising the 36-year-old’s longevity in Ligue 1.

Mbappe told Le10Sport that Silva was the best defender that he played with at PSG: “Thiago Silva and Mario Yepes.

“Thiago Silva because for me he is the best defender in the history of the club with everything he has brought.

“He stayed a long time here.”

We have just said it, he brings experience, quality and leadership at the back that will go along way into helping Chelsea close the gap on the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, who are two of the favourites to win the title this season.

With Silva patrolling that back-line on a weekly basis, the Blues defence will concede alot less goals, and he proved against a very exciting United attack, that he is able to deal with even the quickest of attacks.

Yes Lampard made some signings for the future, but he also need success now and even though Silva is coming towards the back end of his playing career at the top of the game, he will give his all for the club and try to make sure that he is hailed as a good signing, not a bad one by the time he leaves the club.

So if Chelsea are able to keep him fit throughout the course of the season, they have a very good chance of winning some big-time silverware.
