Mckennie Expects £58 million winger Pulisic ‘to be great signing’ for Chelsea after agreeing move

Schalke midfielder Weston McKennie expects Christian Pulisic to be a “great signing” for Chelsea when he joins this summer.

Pulisic is easily regarded as one of the most talented wingers in world football right now and Chelsea ended months of transfer speculation during the January transfer window to secure a £58 million deal for the American, which is seen as a bargain by the Blues.

He is expected to be the idea man to help fill the void of Eden Hazard, who has netted an impressive 26-goals this season in all competitions, but is all set to pack his bags and leave for Real Madrid in a deal that could be worth around £86 million.

McKennie, who has played with Pulisic since youth level for the USA and also against him in the Bundesliga, thinks the 20-year-old has the qualities to be a success at Stamford Bridge.

“Christian is the type of player who likes a challenge and likes to experience new things as well,” said McKennie, speaking to Sky Sports at the launch of the new adidas Nemeziz 19+ boots in Herzogenaurach.

“I think he’ll be a great signing for Chelsea. He may not get it right away, he may get in and play you never know, but I think he’ll be helpful for them in any way that they use him.

“I’m excited for him and I know he’s excited to start that next chapter of his career and make an even bigger name for himself.”

Chelsea pulled off a real bargain when they acquired a deal for Pulisic and he will eventually develop into a top-class winger if he is able to adapt to the quality of the English game, which many have struggled with over the seasons.

And although he will need some time to adjust, he could eventually become the man who fills the boots of Hazard and gets around 20-30 goals a season for Chelsea. So he will be a welcome addition to the premier League.

Chelsea done well nailing down this transfer deal, very well.
