Manchester United release statement OFFICIALLY confirming midfielder has completed move!
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has completed a permanent move to Napoli – the Red Devils have revealed on the club website that has ended months of transfer speculation.
Manchester United posted on the club website: ‘Of his 29 senior goals for the Reds, a career-high 10 came last term, with the late brace to turn the home match with Brentford on its head bringing the house down at the Theatre of Dreams.
‘His final outing came as a substitute in the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last time out but he also appeared at Wembley in the Community Shield earlier this month, calmly converting his penalty in the shootout.
‘He found the net in regular time at the national stadium when opening the scoring against Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final last season. The midfield man had also struck first in the previous round, against Liverpool at Old Trafford, and played a big part in helping the Reds win the second piece of silverware under Ten Hag.
‘McTominay will be missed by everyone at the club and leaves with our best wishes as he embarks on a new chapter of his career in Italy.
‘The switch to Serie A giants Napoli sees him him link up again with former United team-mate Romelu Lukaku, who has finalised a transfer from Chelsea, and play under Antonio Conte.
”Good luck, Scott, arrivederci and thank you for the fabulous memories.’
