£30M star “like-for-like replacement” for Declan Rice – West Ham told

Paul Robinson has claimed Man United midfielder Scott McTominay would be a “like-for-like replacement” for West Ham star Declan Rice
The Hammers spent some serious money in the summer transfer window signing players that they believe could propel them into a Champions League challenging position.
However – that has not worked out and they are languishing down near the bottom in the Premier League and find themselves in a relegation battle that nobody could have imagined.
That has led to speculation that West Ham are interested in a deal for McTominay – especially as it looks like Declan Rice will be leaving the club at the end of the current seasons.
And amid the speculation – the West Ham board have been told that the Man United star could bethe ideal replacement for Rice – Robinson told Football Insider: “I could see that.
“McTominay is a player who fits the defensive midfield role that Rice is currently playing in excellently well.
“If he is not going to be getting regular game time at Man United, at his age, he needs to leave. He will want to be playing week in, week out.
“I suspect game time will only be harder to come by once Erik ten Hag brings a few more signings in as well.
“If Rice was to leave West Ham, McTominay could help to fill that void. It would almost be a like-for-like replacement. That is one that I could see happening. It would make sense for all parties concerned.”
