Arsenal to make Fofana move – Torreira delighted with move – Zinchenko great signing in Arsenal news of the day –

Lens midfielder Seko Fofana is being considered as an alternative to Youri Tielemans, according to reports.

Arsenal have been very active in the transfer market this summer window and have signed some players that have played at the highest level of the game – and has been successful at it

But it is believed that ArsenalFC will carry on spending this transfer window – and Tielemans is a player that is still on the shopping list of the Gunners and is a player that is keen on a move to the Emirates

However – the Foxes are keen to keep the Belgian international – despite the fact that he is out of contract at the end of the season – and will fight to the bitter end before allowing him to depart the club

And the Gunners could instead turn their attention to Fofana, according to the Mirror – as they seek to carry on spending their money

Lens have slapped a £40million price-tag on the midfielder – who is also attracting interest from AC Milan – but Arsenal would be keen to get that fee down a bit knowing the midfielder is open to leaving the French side

Fofana recently hinted that he could leave the French club, saying: “I’m officially here. After that, anything is possible. I want to have fun and take everything I can take.

“We are in a market period in which there is a lot of reflection. You can tell yourself that you will stay or that you will leave, you don’t really know.”

This Tielemans move has been dragging on for far too long now and if Arsenal wants to move on from him – then Fofana is a decent alternative

He may cost a bit more – but he really is talented and could shine in that Arsenal midfield under Mikel Arteta

However – we feel that a move for Tielemans is not yet over – the chase is still on

Zinchenko great signing –

Rio Ferdinand has hailed Oleksandr Zinchenko as a “great addition” and reckons Mikel Arteta will use him like Pep Guardiola uses Joao Cancelo.

After establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola over at Man City – Zinchenko made the big decision to leave the current Premier League Champions this summer

He wanted to play more on a regular basis – something that Guardiola could not guarantee him at Man City – and when Mikel Arteta came calling – he quickly made the decision to join Arsenal

Cancelo is employed both at full-back and a midfield playmaker for Manchester City – and after seeing his impressive debut in the Premier League at the weekend – Ferdinand has claimed that Arteta will use Zinchenko in the same way

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said on Zinchenko: “He’s a great addition.

“I think a lot of coaches don’t look at the negatives now. They look at what he brings. Yeah, they see the negativity but they’re more about what does he bring?

“What does he bring that’s going to enhance us with the ball and I think Zinchenko, does far more good for them than bad.

“I think, even his positions, when they’ve got the ball.

“I don’t think Arteta really wants him to play as a left-back. I think he wants to play him like a Cancelo-type player, like he did in pre-season.”

Zinchenko has been a brilliant signing for Arsenal and will go on to become a real fans favourite – he has already shown just what he is able to bring to the side

So, it will be interesting to see if Ferdinand is right and Arsenal do use him like Man City use Cancelo – he has the quality to play both roles

Torreira delighted with move –

Lucas Torreira is “happy and excited” to have penned a permanent deal with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

In total Torreira played 89 games for the Gunners since he joined in July 2018 – but the move has never worked out and he has spent more time away from the club then actually at it

The 26-year-old has joined Galatasaray on a permanent transfer after spending the last two years out on loan – and he is delighted with the move after it was officially confirmed by the Gunners

Part of an Arsenal statement said: “Everyone at Arsenal thanks Lucas for his contribution during his time with us.

“We wish Lucas and his family the best of health and happiness in their new chapter with Galatasaray.”

Torriera posted on his social media account: “I am very happy and excited to be a new @GalatasaraySK player.

“I am convinced that this is the beginning of a long and successful history together.

“Thank you for trusting me and I promise to leave everything for these colours. Let’s go Gala!”

This move has been a long time coming and we have been surprised to see that he had not left the club earlier

That move to Arsenal should never have happened as he clearly was not good enough for the Gunners – but now he gets a chance to reignite his career with Gala – and that is great for everyone involved

Arsenal fans were sick of seeing him in the media on a daily basis – so now they can forget about him and not worry about what drama he is going to bring

But his departure will surely mean that Mikel Arteta adds another midfielder to the side right?
