Midfielder excited after signing with Cheslea – £77M man to be Potter’s first signing – Silva sends Tuchel message

Gvardiol move to be made by Potter – Silva sends message to tuchel – Wardlaw delighted with deal in Chelsea news of the day –

Chelsea star Thiago Silva has finally reacted to the sacking of Thomas Tuchel with a heartfelt message

Although Chelsea had endured an indifferent start to the season, off-the-pitch issues and a breakdown in Tuchel’s relationship with the club’s new owners are believed to have been the key reasons behind his dismissal.

But just over 24 hours after Tuchel was dismissed, Chelsea already had his replacement secured with Graham Potter announced as the club’s new manager on Thursday afternoon.

Silva – who played under Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain as well as Chelsea – is one of the last players to pay tribute to the former boss – and has sent a heartfelt message to the German

‘Beyond being good professionals, you and your staff were amazing human beings,’ wrote the veteran defender on Instagram.

‘It was a real privilege to meet you and work with you. Thank you for everything Thomas Tuchel, I’m sorry I could not be more helpful! God bless you and your family.’

There are alot of players at Stamford Bridge that are only there because of Thomas Tuchel – they wanted to play for the German – they like playing for the man – and may now consider their futures at the club

Potter is a very good young manager – but he is working with so many personalities – so many top-class players -so many dressing room leaders that he needs to get respect very quickly

It will be interesting to see how he copes in the new job that he has just picked up guys – it is a massive risk from Chelsea – but it is one that all media outlets are keeping a close eye on

Gvardiol move to be made –

Chelsea boss Graham Potter could look to make RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol his first signing at Stamford Bridge in January

Potter has signed a five-year deal at Chelsea after the club decided to get rid of German boss Thomas Tuchel after an indifferent start to the new seaso.

The former Brighton boss has reportedly been assured by owner Todd Boehly that he will be given plenty of time to implement his plans for the role.

And It seems Potter already has one eye on the January transfer window, with the Blues expected to reignite their interest in a move for Gvardiol at the turn of the year, according to Bild.

Gvardiol is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders and remains tied down to Leipzig until the summer of 2027

It is said that Chelsea are ready to again try in their efforts to land the defender, who they reportedly offered £77 million for towards the back end of the summer transfer window

There will not be players at Chelsea that Potter really wants to keep hold of – and players that he believes will not be good enough to play the kind of football that he desires

It will be interesting to see just who he goes for when the winter transfer window opens up – as he will surely be given some money to spend

But it is interesting to see that one player that Ted Boehly wanted in the summer is the same one that Potter may go for – it suggests who is doing all the transfer business for the club

That is probably why Tuchel lost a bit of his spark – he was losing control of the players that were coming and going

Wardlaw delighted with deal –

Chelsea academy graduate Charlotte Wardlaw has been loaned to Liverpool for this season after signing a new contract until summer 2025 with the Blues.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Liverpool, helping them to secure promotion from the Championship into the Women’s Super League with 23 appearances to her name for the Reds.

But after tying down the player to a new contract – Chelsea made the decision to let her head back to Liverpool for this season – and she is excited about the switch

Wardlaw said on her Liverpool unveiling: “I’m so excited to be back. I love this club, I loved it last season, I love the girls and I love everything this club stands for. The decision was was so easy.”

Chelsea general manager Paul Green said: “We see this as a great opportunity for Charlotte to go back to Liverpool and gain valuable WSL playing time.

“She had a good season with Liverpool last year helping them gain promotion and we feel that this as an important next step in her development. We look forward to seeing her have another successful season with Liverpool.”

Liverpool boss Matt Beard said: “We’ve been monitoring Charlotte’s situation all summer and we’ve been speaking with Chelsea for some time.

“Charlotte brings versatility to the squad as she can operate at right wing-back, centre midfield and even in a back three for me last year.

“She’s a talented young player, fits in well with the group and knows how we play. It was a no-brainer to bring her back.”
