Midfielder Should be at Liverpool – Reds told to get £200m deal done – Klopp happy with transfer business

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Jordan Henderson has opened up and claimed that Jurgen Klopp is very happy with the transfer business that Liverpool managed over the course of the summer window.

LIVERPOOL have had a busier transfer window than many people expected, with a number of stars departing the club over the last few months, and a number of players making their ways to Anfield.

Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mc Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai all got signed by Klopp over the summer window, and all have pretty much had an immediate impact on the squad.

However – it is no secret that Liverpool missed out on a number of transfer targets that Klopp really wanted to sign, as Jude Bellingham joined Real Madrid and Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia both joined Chelsea.

But despite that – Henderson has opened up and claimed that his former boss is very happy with the transfer business that the Reds managed to pull off over the summer window.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“I saw Jurgen said a few days ago that he’s really happy with the transfer window and he loves his team. Which tells you the players that left, he probably wanted to go and the players that have come in, he probably wanted to sign,” he told The Athletic.

“They’ll have had a plan. It’s not as if they just went last minute, ‘Oh Jordan’s going and Fabinho’s going, Milner’s going’. There’s always a plan, there’s always a strategy, especially with this ownership,” he added.

Look, not getting Jude Bellingham was a massive loss for LIVERPOOL, he has really stepped up another level at Real Madrid and looks like a man that can become one of the games greatest players.

However – the signings that have been signed are very impressive and it will be interesting to see just what type of season the Reds manage this year.

BELLINGHAM CLAIM MADE –

Former Reds Captain Jordan Henderson has claimed that LIVERPOOLshould just have paid the money to sign Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham over the course of the transfer window.

When the season started three weeks ago, the Englishman became an instant hit by scoring on his debut at Athletic Bilbao, added two more in a victory at Almeria, and then netted a late winner at Celta Vigo to secure three straight away wins.

Bellingham has settled quickly since his monster move to the club. Real fans have been impressed by the 20-year-old’s attitude and maturity, as well as by his form, and he has really become one of the most important members of that squad.

Now, Henderson has opened up and claimed that Liverpool should have paid the money that would have secured the signing of Bellingham for Jurgen Klopp, who really wanted the Englishman over the summer.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“They’re not going to go and spend a ridiculous amount of fees and wages on players because it will upset the structure, as much as I tried with certain players in the past!” he said to The Athletic.

“They stick to their principles and it has worked. Maybe not to the owners but you can probably think of certain players that I might have tried for in the past, especially recently! Looking back now, he’s on fire so (laughing) I might have thought we should have just paid the money!”

Henderson has also insisted that FSG always “have a plan” and they are in control of things so that the squad harmony is not disturbed.

“In the end, they have a structure, they have a plan and if it doesn’t fall within that then they’re not going to change for it. Because it has a knock-on effect,” he said.

“It’s great to sign these amazing players with loads of wages and it’s amazing for everyone. But in the end, you’ll then have different players coming in wanting different money, you’ve got players within saying, ‘Well, I want…’. It causes loads of different issues within.

“They always have a plan, always have a strategy and they know what they’re doing. The most important thing is they care about the club and that’s the biggest thing I would say about them,” he added.

We can see why Liverpool didn’t spend all their transfer kitty on Bellingham, but he is certainly a player that Reds fans would have loved, just like Madrid fans are right now.

SALAH FOR £200 MILLION –

Liverpool have been told the amount of money that they should accept for the much talked about Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been one of the best attacking midfielders in world football for LIVERPOOL over the past few seasons and a man they can really rely on when it comes to scoring goals.

Salah notched 30 goals and 16 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions last term for Liverpool – but became disappointed after the Reds missed out on Champions League football.

In total he has scored 188 goals through 309 appearances that have seen him break countless records. His efforts have helped the Reds to Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Community Shield honors.

Salah signed a new Liverpool contract just last summer (2022), keeping him at the club until June 2025 and netting him a reported wage of £350,000-a-week, but there has been some talk that a stunning transfer move could happen.

Salah has emerged as a target for Al-Ittihad with reports emerging from Saudi Arabia throughout the week of an imminent bid for the 31-year-old, and it has been claimed the Saudi Pro League champions are willing to make the Reds winger the highest-paid player in history.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, former star Glen Johnson has told the Liverpool board the amount of money they should take for their star man, Johnson has told Betfred “If a Saudi club wants a player, then they’ll make it very hard for teams to say no to them because they’re prepared to offer crazy money. Mo Salah is not the Mo Salah of two years ago and if Liverpool receive an offer of £200 million, then they’ve got to accept it. Mo has smashed a load of records and has won everything with Liverpool, so it should be his decision.

‘Does he want to continue challenging for major honours or does he want to play in a league that’s of a lower standard and earn an absolute fortune? It all depends on what Mo wants and if Saudi wants him and he wants to go, then it’s going to be very difficult for Liverpool to stop it.”

‘The manager is only as good as his players, so he’s going to want the strongest team possible. I’m not suggesting they’re going to but if the owners decide to sell Mo after the Premier League’s transfer window has closed, then that’s going to cause friction as Jurgen will be desperate to keep Mo.

‘However, if LIVERPOOL can sell Salah for £200 million and Jurgen can spend that money on four new players in either January or next summer then it’s not the worst thing in the world, but the owners and the manager need to be in the same camp.”
