Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri signed his first professional contract and snubbed the likes of Chelsea andn Man City

The highly-rated ARSENAL midfielder – who turned 17 last week – put pen to paper on a deal between two and three years to end speculation of leaving for interested Prem rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.

And after leaving his scholarship days behind to commit to his boyhood club, Nwaneri said: “It’s a proud moment for me and my family to finally be here. I’m ready to keep working.

“It was the dream to get to this stage. I’ve always thought about when this day would come and I’ve been looking forward to it. I didn’t have to think about it – this is my family and it feels like home here.

“It feels so special to me here. The opportunities from Mikel, all the under-21 coaches, under-18s coaches, they’ve all helped me develop so I’m grateful to them.”

Academy manager Per Mertesacker added: “Ethan has a strong ability to master the ball and dominate possession, this is what we are all about at Arsenal.

“He is someone that will thrive on and off the pitch, he is a strong young gunner and we look forward to working with him during his ongoing development in the years to come.”

With Man City and Chelsea lurking, Arteta took a hands-on approach in negotiations to ensure the club’s homegrown Hale End talent in Nwaneri stayed put.

It appears that Arsenal have made their moves to try and sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen – if you believe the latest reports in the media.

Osimhen

Premier League bound?

The Big Nigeria star has already admitted that he is leaving Napoli – the Italians have already confirmed that he will be getting sold in the summer – meaning that the likes of Arsenal will be able to get a deal done if they meet the £111 million clause.

With Arsenal eager to secure his signature. The Gunners have taken proactive steps by initiating talks with Napoli, as reported by Four Four Two.

Speaking to icfootballnews, Reporter Iomie Stanley said: “Osimhen is very similar to [Erling] Haaland, although not quite up to his level just yet. But he is a fantastic player – very strong, with quality in the final third of the pitch.

“He scores goals in every way, with his right, his left and with headers. He is a complete striker, for me one of the best in the world.

“Arsenal would be a good club for him. They would be the ideal team for Osimhen – the football they play could suit his game.

JORGINHO CLAIM MADE –

The Agent of Jorginho has revealed that that the midfielder’s priority is to stay at Arsenal.

With the arrivals of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz last summer there has been much talk of a revamped midfield at ARSENAL FC, with Jorginho not tipped by many to be part of the long-term plans at the Emirates

That has led to some suggestions in the media that he is a player that the Gunners would allow to depart the club over the next transfer window – with a move to the Spanish league or Saudi Arabia mooted for the Italian star.

In recent weeks it has been claimed that a move back to Italy has been on the cards for the midfielder, and it seemed that Arsenal were ready to allow him to leave the club when his contract expired.

But amid the speculation and rumours – his agent has come out and dropped a transfer hint for the Italian – Jorginho’s agent Santos said: “We will discuss with Arsenal about his contract being due to expire in June, it’s our priority”.

“Arsenal have fantastic group and we will see if they need him for next season”.

“Returning to Italy? Why not? One day maybe”, told Radio Sportiva.’

Jorginho is a world class midfielder and it would be a very smart decision from ARSENAL FC to keep hold of the man for another year – he adds so much experience to the Gunners side.

So even though there are alot of rumours – we are fully expecting him to stay at the club for at least one more season – unless something happens between now and the end of the season.
