Mikel Arteta absolutely delighted after Arsenal announce attacker deal

Reiss Nelson has committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract.

He has scored some vital goals this season that kept ARSENAL in the chase to win that Premier League title – but his contract expires at the end of the season.

But he has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Emirates – and The Gunners have opened negotiations, and there is a growing belief that an agreement can be reached soon.

Plenty of Premier League sides have been keen on the winger but Nelson he choose to remain at Arsenal and Arteta has admitted that he is delighted with the deal.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

Arteta told club media: “Reiss is a player I have admired since the first day I was here. He has tremendous ability and is such an exciting offensive talent.

“Reiss knows how important he is to our squad with the quality he has.

“It’s great that Reiss has committed his future to us – he knows this club so well, he grew up here and we look forward to enjoying many more good moments with him.”

IS THIS S GOOD DEAL FOR NELSON?

Nelson wants to stay at ARSENAL – he wants to be part of the future at the club – but if he is happy to be a bench warmer and then come on when needed – then staying put is the right decision.

He is nothing more than a squad member at the Emirates and will never be anything more than that – there are far better players in that side that will be there for a very long time.

But he is happy – Arteta is happy and the fans are happy – so good for him.
