Activating that clause in Saliba’s contract is a great decision by Arsenal as it will give the club some more time to get his long-term stay sorted.

We would be shocked to see him NOT sign a new deal – he fully deserves it

Gabriel loving life –

Brazilian star Gabriel has opened up and revealed why he is loving life at Arsenal since making the move to the Emirates.

The defender has become a key first-team player since arriving from Lille in the summer of 2020, and has thrived at the heart of the defence this season nd helping the Gunners reach the very top of the League table.

His partnership alongside the impressive William Saliba is one of the main reasons why Arsenal have won so many games this season – and now the Brazilian has opened up and revealed just why he is loving life at the club

“We’ve got a very good relationship,” the defender explained. “We’re always chatting. He’s a manager who is very close with his players and he’s very influential.

“He’s helped me a lot since I arrived here. He’s a great person and really looks after every person in the team – it’s like a family. He makes us happy and that gives us a real desire to win.

“All the players are working hard together and the most important thing is that everybody wants to play and everybody wants to win. The group is very united together and we are on this journey [together]. There’s still a lot of work to do but we hope that we can stay focused and get the job [done].”

“They’ve brought a lot of quality to this group,” he added.

“We’re a very young team and these new players have brought a real desire to win and experience [in winning]. We’re still working together with that desire to win and that experience.

“[Zinchenko and Jesus] won a lot of titles at their previous club and we know the quality they have. They came here to help us. Gabby Jesus has been injured – he’s so important for the team and he helps us a lot. He brings that experience to the group.

“Wilo was out on loan but he’s come back as a much more mature player.

“He’s got good quality and we’ve got good communication between us, especially given it’s only our first season together. We work hard every day and that’s helping us to get results on the pitch.”

£60M for Caicedo –

Arsenal will have to shell out close to £60million to beat Newcastle to the signing of Brighton ace Moises Caicedo, it has been claimed

With the transfer window drawing to a close over the summer – there was a shock move from Arsenal to try and acquire the services of Caicedo -as the club to add some more depth to his squad – but they failed with a move

However – it has been claimed in the media that the likes of the Gunners are ready to delve into that transfer kitty and try to sign the midfielder in the coming windows – especially as Grahm Potter seeks to improve his side

Brighton were determined to keep the Ecuadorian for the long-term but must resist the interest from the likes of Newcastle, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Now – according to The Telegraph – Arsenal will have to shell out close to £60 million to try and secure a deal for Caicedo

The Gunners will be bolstered by reports that Brighton don’t want to do business with the Magpies anyway after the northeast club poached their director of football Dan Ashworth.

There are not too many people out there right now that do not believe that Caicedo is not ready to play for one of the big clubs – it would be a massive shock if he stayed put over the next few windows.

Arsenal have so many midfielders that they may not need to sign another – but Caicedo would still be a very good addition to that squad for the right amount of money.

But we cannot see the Gunners board paying £60 million for the man
