Mikel Arteta makes decision on bringing £300,000-a-week Brazilian to Arsenal this month

Mikel Arteta looks set to pass on a move for Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

Coutinho was one of the most gifted players in the Premier League with Liverpool and the Reds helped mould the Brazilian into one of the very best players in world football.

That ultimately led to him making that big money move to sign with Barcelona, a move that was supposed to make him an absolute superstar in the game. But for many reasons, he has failed to make the impact that many people had expected.

That has led to alot of reports in the media that he is very open to the idea of making a mega money move back to the Premier League, where there are a number of clubs that are reportedly interested in a transfer deal

It has been claimed in recent weeks that Barcelona are aware that Arsenal are interested in a potential deal for Coutinho, and are willing to let the Brazilian leave the club if the Gunners allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to go the other way.

But The Mirror claim that the north Londoners are not interested in former Liverpool star Coutinho and do not want to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazatte.

The report adds that Arsenal are said to be fully committed to the forward duo and would not like to see them depart the club this transfer window.

If the reports are true and Arteta has made the decision to not make a move for Coutinho, it would be a shame as he is world class.

But they would need more than a midfielder to arrive at the club, especially if they let one of the strikers depart. So it is probably a wise decision right now
