Mikel Arteta told impressive 22-goal star needs to be at Arsenal this summer

ARSENAL icon Ray Parlour reckons Folarin Balogun will offer Mikel Arteta’s side a different dimension if he’s given a chance.;

Balogun lit up the French League last season and netted an impressive 21-goals in Ligue 1 to cement himself as one of the most exciting young strikers in the game right now.

But there has been alot of speculation about his immediate future with the club as it seems that he may not get the game time that he desires at the Emirates – and could leave with some big clubs interested.

However – amid all the speculation – Parlour has opened up and claimed that Balogun will offer Mikel Arteta’s side a different dimension if he’s given a chance to shine.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

The former Gunners midfielder told JBI Training: “Balogun can definitely offer Arsenal something different in the striker role.

“He is a big, tall guy. He has a good build. I think he has a brilliant opportunity to put himself in [Mikel] Arteta’s plans for the coming season by performing well during the pre-season tour.

“He did really well in France last year. I know that the level in France is a little bit lower than the Premier League, but he was still banging the goals in. He is a confident player and character.

“Everyone will be given an opportunity and he will have to show Mikel Arteta that he is ready to be part of his squad next season.

“I like the desire from the player. He’s already said that he wants to play after his successful period on loan in France, let’s see if that will be with Arsenal.”

SHOULD ARSENAL KEEP THE LAD?

Look, ARSENAL have been linked with some strikers this summer but letting Balogun leave would be a mistake – he is ready for that chance at the Emirates and should be given it.

He could save the club millions.
