Mikel Arteta told Premier League midfielder Grealish ‘would walk into this Arsenal team’
Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish would ‘walk’ into the Arsenal team, says Danny Murphy.
Mikel Arteta is a boss that needs to spend some serious money over the next few weeks in order to improve a side that may in fact struggle to get a top six spot this season, nevermind a Champions League place for next season.
That has, of course, led to all sorts of speculation about whom could come into the club, who could leave the club, and what superstar signing that Arteta will seek to improve his very young side.
However, there has also been some shock rumours in the media that Villa midfielder Grealish could also be on the radar of Arteta after impressing during his first season back in the Premier League.
His performances over the past few months has also caught the attentions of the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool, But former Liverpool star Murphy has claimed that Grealish could walk straight into the side at the Emirates.
Speaking about Grealish to the Daily Mail, he said: “He can have an impact as a No10, off the left, in a midfield three or even as a deep-lying midfielder.
“He’d walk into the Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United teams right away.”
Grealish has already scored 6 goals and assisted 5 more so far this season.
Look, Arsenal are at that stage now where Arteta needs to bring in big time players in order to close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool, and that is what the club should be doing.
City and Liverpool have been linked with Grealish for months now, but have not made the move, and that is because he is not ready to make an impact, and Arsenal should be thinking that also.
Arteta will have his transfer targets and we are not going to sit here and tell you who to sign, but right now, at this moment in time, signing Grealish would not be the right move to make for the Spaniard.
Work on signing defenders and then some big time players, not talents.
