Chelsea are reportedly signing a player that has a very high footballing IQ in the shape of Moscardo.

The 18-year-old made his first-team debut for Corinthians in June and is widely regarded as one of the brightest midfield talents in the country.

But according to former Corinthians midfielder Neto, who now hosts Brazilian TV show ‘Os Donos da Bola’, claims CHELSEA have won the race to sign Moscardo.

Speaking on Monday’s show, Neto said: ‘The Moscardo boy was sold to Chelsea. That’s the information I have. That’s why he didn’t play.’

And GOAL journalist Krishan Davis has claimed that Chelsea are seemingly getting a player that has a very high footballing IQ: “As a defensive midfielder, he is predictably astute at reading the game, he passes precisely and he presses and battles tirelessly – a result of his youth but also testament to his stamina.

“His ball-carrying ability is particularly eye-catching, as he is able to progress play with the ball at his feet without discarding his defensive duties. That is undoubtedly an attribute that has led to him catching the eye of Europe’s elite.”

There is alot of hype surrounding the lad, there really are some big clubs interested in a potential deal for the man, he is a player that everyone wants.

But if the reports are true and CHELSEA are signing the lad, he will be coming to a club that has a history of signing young talents and then losing them in the system, so even though there is a new board, this is a big risk for the lad.

Chelsea are a massive club and this is a great opportunity – but at the end of the day it is a move that he did not need to make at this stage of his career.
