Chelsea close in on stunning deal as Mourinho drops hint he wants £60 million Man United star gone?
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has dropped a massive hint he is ready to sell Chelsea target Anthony Martial this summer.
The Frenchman, who was once hailed as the most exciting teenager on world football, has failed to live upto expectations placed on his shoulders by the special one over the last two seasons and has seen speculation over his future at Old Trafford be a constant headline.
It has been reported United would be willing to sell Martial if his £80 million price tag was met by chasing clubs, a fee that the Blues were unwilling to match.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly ready to do his transfer business late having arrived at the club just a few weeks ago, and would be willing to pay around £60 million for the services of Martial
And while happy for the 22-year-old forward and the birth of his child, Mourinho is not happy with Martial and believes he should have returned to the tour after he left to go see his new born baby.
Asked about the Frenchman’s return following United’s 2-1 friendly win over Real Madrid on Wednesday morning, Mourinho said on the Daily Star webites: “Anthony Martial? Is better for [press officer] Karen [Shotbolt] to answer if she wants to answer.
Shotbolt then replied: “We’re here to talk about the game.”
Mourinho is known for not having patients for players and will either sell Martial or make his time at Old Trafford much harder over the next 12 months.
