Jose Mourinho announces ‘he is determined’ to improve this Tottenham squad ahead of summer window

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is not expecting big bucks to spend, he is determined to improve his squad.

The special one may not have won over many in the media that believe he has what it takes to take this Tottenham side back to challenging for titles, but he has managed to get the side winning and back into Europe again ahead of next season.

And although he has admitted that he will not be able to spend serious money, he has admitted that he is seeking to improve his squad, he told Sky Sports: “When all the players are available we showed in this last period where we belong. I don’t know, maybe in this period, after lockdown, we finished third or fourth in the table. So that’s where we belong. I want to have my team, my players, not a medical room full of players. I want a pitch full of players.

“Of course as a squad the main thing is to keep our very good players and after that improve the squad.

“Are we going to buy 10 players? No. Are we going to buy players for £100million? No. We are going to improve.

“I enjoy working with Steve (Hitchen – Spurs’ chief scout) in this organisation. We are very connected with (chairman) Mr (Daniel) Levy and the board and we’re going to do what is possible to do and hopefully next season we can give it to the fans a very good season.”

Look, this Tottenham squad are one of the best in the Premier League and if he can keep his squad fully fit, they dont really need much improving.

Mourinho may not play the exciting football that Spurs fans want to see, but he knows what he is doing, is a proven winner and if he can add a few players to the squad, expect big things next season guys.

I think the key to winning trophies is by playing good football, and lets face it Spurs neither look like title contenders or even close to being also rans at present. As much as I hate saying this the bar the club is setting right now is completely lacking any degree of real ambition and thus the notion of winning trophies diminishes further and further away!
