Mourinho issues very strong message to Tottenham fans over Min-Son contract talks

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho does not believe negotiations around a new contact for Heung-Min Son will be a problem.

Son has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season and is one of the biggest reasons, alongside Harry Kane, why the club have managed to stay in the hunt for as top four place, although that run has been hindered over the past few weeks.

After winning 2-0 against West Brom, in which Son scored, there has been reports that the attacker will get a nice big new contract to sign and pretty much end any speculation that he could leave the club at the end of the season.

And Mourinho has opened up and assured the Spurs fans that negotiations around a new contact for Heung-Min Son will be a problem, Mourinho said on Sky Sports: “Sonny is not a problem. He has a contract still for a couple of years, maybe even three, so I believe we just have to wait for the right moment to do it.

“This situation with the world where we are and the Covid situation, I don’t think it’s the right moment for players and clubs to discuss contracts with so many people losing jobs, not working and having difficulties.

“I believe when the sun shines again for the world, the club and Sonny are going to arrive quite easily to a conclusion.”

Spurs need to make sure that they get this deal wrapped up rather quickly, as the longer it drags on, the more chance there is of a bigger club coming in and offering him a lucrative move away.

There are certain players in this Tottenham side that the club cannot lose, and Son is one of those.
