Moves made to replace £100M powerhouse with Man United looking to get big deal done!

Will Toon sign Toney?

With Man United target Ivan Toney expected to leave some time in the near future, Brentford have already begun making moves to replace him.

According to reports in France, the Bees tabled a £15.3million [€18m] offer for Toulouse striker Thijs Dallinga earlier in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old Dutch striker has ten goals and two assists in 25 appearances in all competitions this season and has attracted the attention of the Premier League side.

French outlet L’Equipe have reported that bid was rejected by Toulouse and their president, former Liverpool and Tottenham director of football Damien Comolli.

But with Toney likely to fetch between £80m to £100m, Brentford will have some money to spend in their search for a replacement.

Toney is one of the most in-demand strikers in the Premier League and a player that Man United fans would love for the club to sign as they seek to add a striker to the attack that has the ability to score 20-plus goals a season.

He has made it clear that he has no intention of  leaving the club at this stage of the season – but has hinted that a move to a bigger club is something that he is hoping for in the coming seasons.

So, if the reports are correct and Brentford are already planning to lose their star man – then the Red Devils will be keeping a very close eye over the next few months to see just how much Toney will actually go for.

Toney is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and is certainly a player that has the ability to make a real impact at a club like Man United.

Brentford know that he wants to make that next step in his career – so planning for life after Toney makes sense – they just need to make sure that they sign a player that brings so much to the side the Ivan.
