David Moyes confirms he wants £70M star at West Ham – makes big transfer admission

West Ham boss David Moyes says he does not want to lose Lucas Paqueta amid interest from Manchester City.

WEST HAM have been in the headlines a lot this summer window and have already seen the massive departure of Declan Rice happen after he decided to make the move to Arsenal.

But some worrying news broke last week after it was claimed on the DAILY TELEGRAPH – that Man City have made an offer to sign Lucas Paqueta for a fee of £70 million.

Paqueta was one of West Ham’s stand-out players last season as they won the Europa Conference League and is a man that David Moyes will not allow to depart the club this summer.

But the Brazilian’s contract does contain an £85million buyout clause for next summer, and he is reportedly up for making a move to the current Premier League and Champions League holders.

The midfielder put in an eye-catching display in West Ham’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the Premier League, and Moyes does not want another of his best players to leave.

However – he is realistic enough to know he might not be able to stop him as every player has a price.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“There’s a price on everyone’s head somewhere,” he said on Sky Sports

“We don’t want Lucas to go, it’s as simple as that. But sometimes it’s difficult to say to these boys you can’t join Manchester City, or Real Madrid, the biggest clubs in the world.

“We’ve had a bit of news on Lucas but we’ve had nothing that’s made us wobble.”

CAN PAQUETA TURN DOWN A MOVE TO MAN CITY?

Paqueta was a player that WEST HAM fans were very happy with last season – he really impressed in that Hammers shirt and he is a man that David Moyes has big hops for over the next couple of seasons.

This rumour has come out of nowhere and if Man City are seriously interested in a potential move for the Brazilian star – we can see him asking for a transfer as it will be very hard to turn down.
