‘I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea, star announces after record-breaking move
Mykhailo Mudryk completed his move to Chelsea over the weekend – and is delighted with the move to Stamford Bridge
The 22-year-old had seemed destined to join Arsenal after months of being linked with the Emirates, only for the Blues to swoop in at the last minute with a sensational €100million (£88.5m) offer for the Shakhtar Donetsk star.
The Ukrainian international, who turned 22 earlier this month, has put pen to paper on an eight-and-a-half year contract with the Blues to seal his move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea announced: ‘His club form earned Mudryk a place in the senior Ukraine squad last year, receiving eight caps since making his international debut in their win over Scotland in the FIFA World Cup qualifying play-offs in June.
‘Chelsea would like to thank Shakhtar Donetsk for enabling Mykhailo to take up this new opportunity.
‘Welcome to Stamford Bridge, Mykhailo!’
And after the move to London – Mudryk expressed just how delighted with the switch – admitting that he is happy to play for such a huge club.
‘I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea,’ Mudryk said after completing his move.
‘This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff.’
