Here is the daily roundup of Liverpool and Manchester United news and gossip
Reports have emerged and claimed that Arsenal are in talks to sign Ajax winger David Neres, who is also on the shopping list of Manchester United.
Unai Emery may have spent over £70 million in his first summer transfer window, but he is expected to be handed around £100 million in the coming transfer window as the Gunners hierarchy are aiming to get the club back challenging for the Premier League title, and latter stages of the Champions League.
And with the likes of Aaron Ramsey heading for Juventus and Danny Welbeck not getting a new contract with the club, it is clear that Emery will need to add to his attack in the coming months, with the very impressive Neres now on the shopping list after helping Ajax get back to the very top of the game.
The 22-year-old has been in sublime form for the Dutch club this season with 12 goals and 15 assists so far, while his latest strike came in the 1-1 draw against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday evening and he has also been rewarded for his fine performances with a call-up to the Brazilian National side.
The Brazilian has caught the attentions of a number of sides across Europe, but according to The Daily Telegraph, Arsenal have begun negotiations with Ajax over a potential deal with some reports even suggesting they could go as high as £40 million to secure a transfer deal.
However, as we said there is a lot of clubs interested in acquiring the services of Neres and Arsenal will have to be prepared to go higher than they currently want to try and secure a deal for the talented winger, which has squashed many transfer deals in the past. (Read more)
Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has claimed that Eden Hazard is too good for Chelsea and needs to make that move to Real Madrid.
Hazard has been in superb form for Chelsea this season and is the main reason why the Blues are still in the hunt for a Champions League spot a Europa League title, but his brilliance on the pitch has not gone unnoticed as Madrid have shown a keen interest in trying to secure a deal.
After the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, Madrid have lacked creativity and quality of front of goal and need that ‘superstar’ to replace the Portuguese legend, and although they have been linked with PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, it seems they have their sights firmly on a deal for Hazard.
And after seeking Hazard put in another imperious display against West Ham, Carragher has claimed that Hazard needs to move on so that he can play at a higher level.
“To be honest I don’t think you can ever stop that (speculation around Real Madrid),” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“Most players see that as the pinnacle, it’s happened at both our clubs, United and Liverpool , and I agree it’s sad in terms of not watching them week in, week out.
“But I almost feel like Hazard has to play for a Real Madrid or a Barcelona.
“He’s that good that there are some players you think just have to play at that level.
“No disrespect, but I think Hazard’s too good for Chelsea right now.
“I just think he’s that good a player.
“With Hazard, I think he’s one of the best players in the world and I think the best players in the world play at your Real Madrid’s and your Barcelona’s.
“At this moment, Chelsea aren’t. He’s won leagues with them, he hasn’t won a Champions League, but I think as an individual player he needs a Real Madrid on his CV to finish that career.” (Read more)

Pogba has really come into his own over the past few months under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and he become a key player in United’s quest to get back into the top four and try to win the Champions League title, although they will have to beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou to progress.
However, there has been a lot of transfer speculation over the past few weeks which have suggested that Madrid are eyeing up a potential £100 million transfer deal, as boss Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of his fellow Frenchman and would love to add him to the squad in the coming windows.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has amassed quite a world class squad during his spell at Anfield and his side are now one of the best squads in world football, but it is not complete as the German boss is keen to add depth to his side in order to progress ahead of next season.

He told BILD: “Thorgan has informed us that he doesn’t want to extend his contract and that he wants to leave the club in the summer to take the next step.
“I’ve heard this statement 15 times in the last 10 years as really great players have left us. That’s the way it is for us.
“We’ll have to see where his path will continue. I don’t know whether it will be at BVB (Borussia Dortmund), who are constantly being mentioned, or at Atletico Madrid, Liverpool or another club.”
