There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
Before coronavirus put a temporary stop on Premier League action, the Chelsea boss had banished Kepa to the bench and promoted veteran keeper Willy Caballero to the starting XI in his place.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are ready to make a move and try to bring in a new stopper at the end of the season, to make sure that they have a more reliable stopper between the sticks for when next season starts.
Recent reports on BILD CLAIMED that Lampard will seek to officially get Kepa off the books in the summer and will seek to complete a mammoth deal for Neuer.
The report added Neuer is already considering ditching Bayern because the German giants have a deal to bring in Schalke shot-stopper Alexander Nubel, 23, from next season, meaning that he may find himself on the bench more often that he wants at this stage in his career.
Now all-time great midfielder Matthaus, 59, told Sky Deutschland: “I can understand his desire for security and a long contract very well. But five years is also a long time.
“He should not forget how loyal FC Bayern was to him in every phase. For both sides, it would be wonderful if Manuel stays a few years more.
“He should first extend for three years and if he’s still healthy and performs he’ll get the next contract. I think the signs are pointing to his departure.”
Matthaus added: “He wants to play. He wants to play more often and longer. In light of his quality, that’s understandable.
“Probably a little more was expected of him, and the expectations he put on himself were undoubtedly higher. I don’t think that he will still be playing in Munich next season.”
Reports in the media have claimed that Lyon will sell Moussa Dembele in the summer, with Chelsea keen on a deal.
There has been ALOT of transfer speculation in the media over the past few months linking Chelsea with a number of possible deals, and a possible number of signings in order for Frank Lampard to improve his side.
And it is very obvious that the Chelsea boss is keen to add another striker to his side, as TAMMY ABRAHAM cannot do things on his own, while Michy Batshuayi is seen more of an impact player off the bench, while Olivier Giroud is seemingly on his way out of the club.

Ex Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair has warned Birmingham City prodigy Jude Bellingham off a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
Frank Lampard knows that he needs to keep adding to his side during the summer transfer window as he needs to take this to the next stage and get Chelsea challenging for more than a top four spot and Champions League money, Roman Abramovic wants to be challenging for titles.
Lampard has already seen the Chelsea make a move to wrap up a deal for Hakim Ziyech, but with reports suggesting both Willian and Pedro could be leaving the club, Lampard knows that he may still need to add another winger to the side, with Bellingham on the shopping list.
Bellingham had been expected to sign for United this summer after it was revealed that Red Devils chiefs gave the 16-year-old a tour of the club’s Carrington training ground earlier in the season, but reports claim that Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have both held talks with the Birmingham prodigy.
Birmingham could hold out for as much as £50m for Bellingham, who has established himself as a mainstay in the Championship side this season, as the youngster has scored four goals and provided three assists in 32 league appearances for the St Andrews club.
And Chelsea supposedly see Bellingham as an exciting prospect who would fit into the senior squad well as manager Frank Lampard oversees a transition towards a more youthful approach, and the development of academy graduates such as Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Fikayo Tomori and Callum Hudson-Odoi will work in Chelsea’s favour as they look to entice Bellingham to London.
However, Sinclair told GentingBet: “He has to think about playing games, getting better and improving as a player – which I think will be very difficult for him to do at Chelsea.
“You look at the youngsters coming through the ranks at Chelsea and you’d say that there are better players coming through the academy than Bellingham anyway.
“So, if he is going to move on from Birmingham and kick on at a higher level, it is really important that he goes to a club where he can play week in, week out as that’s the only way he’ll improve and fulfil the potential that he’s got.
“I think Bellingham needs to be very wary of his next move.”
