Ole should get job! Man United legend Neville opens up on impressing Solskjaer

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a wonderful job at Old Trafford so far.

After one of the worst starts in United’s history, Jose Mourinho was finally sacked by the hierarchy after months of moaning, groaning and criticising the players, which led to alot of speculation that there could be a mass exodus from the club.

And he was swiftly replaced by Solskjaer, who has not only brought seven wins on the trot for the club, but has brought back the attacking identity and positive atmosphere, which has transformed a number of Red Devils players.

Now Neville believes that Solskjaer could be the main for the permanent post should his fine run of form continue.

He was quoted on the Sky Sports webiste: “Ole has done an incredible job at Manchester United over the last six weeks – far better than I could have imagined. Tottenham was a huge game and are a huge team who we’ve all loved watching.

“But in that first half, he changed to a diamond and changed the shape. He was bold and took risks and it paid off – that’s what Manchester United is about and he’s delivered brilliantly.

“Let’s judge it [who should get the full-time United job] at the end of the season – he would want that. The idea that it’s an audition every week for him to get the job is wrong.

“Personally, I hope he gets the job but from a fan perspective I want Manchester United to appoint the very best person for the job – that could be Ole at the end of the season if he continues to do what he’s doing now.”

Should United hand Solskjaer the permanent job at Old Trafford?

On his current form, the simple answer is yes. But in the world of football it is never that easy.
