Neville opens up and stuns Manchester United fans with Pogba claim
Former Manchester United star Phil Neville has claimed Paul Pogba ‘is the worlds best midfielder’ on his day.
The Frenchman has not fulfilled his potential since his return back to Old Trafford a few seasons ago and has come under heavy criticism for his performances and his attitude, especially during the continuous spats with former boss Jose Mourinho.
But the Frenchman has run into some form under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is starting to look like the world class midfielder that dominated Serie A with Juventus.
The 25-year-old took his tally to the season to seven with a double in United’s 3-1 win against Huddersfield at Old Trafford on Boxing Day and Neville has made a bold claim on the Frenchmans’ recent performances.
‘Paul Pogba on his day is the best midfielder in Europe,’ Neville told Match of the Day.
Pogba has been linked with a move to Juventus and PSG over the past few months, with all indications suggesting he has had enough of trying to please the fans.
Is Pogba one of the best midfielders in Europe?
Pogba has real quality and is one of those players that can turn a game in the blink of an eye, but his problem has been consistency at Old Trafford, as he simply cannot put together a good run of games.
But now Mourinho is no longer at the club and the fact United will play a more attacking style under Solskjaer, it could be the best thing for Pogba as he will get the opportunity to showcase his creative ability.
On his day Pogba is one of the worlds very best players, but he is too far away to be one of the best in Europe.
