Benitez makes big Chelsea claim as Premier League heading to Stamford Bridge this season?

Former Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has claimed Chelsea can win the Premier League this season, as Newcastle are up next for Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri arrived at Chelsea in the summer transfer window and immediately set about trying to convince Eden Hazard, Willian and N’Golo Kante all to stay while also trying to sign a few new players.

And his powers seemed to work as he convinced the trio to stay and then signed Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Kepa all before the transfer window closed.

Benitez’s Newcastle will welcome Chelsea to St James’ Park on Sunday, and when asked if they can win the league this year, he said: “I think so.

“Maybe at the moment, there are three teams that you could say that they are a little bit ahead of the others, for me – Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City – because of the level, the performances last year and the money they spent.

“Then Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal, they have to go back to things they were doing well. They have quality in the squad and they can compete, for sure.
“But if you have to pick three, I will pick these. They have enough quality to do well.”

Here is what we think.

Chelsea don’t look amazing at the back, Arsenal ripped them apart at times and should have left Stamford Bridge with all three points in their strikers could actually find the back of the net.

But Newcastle don’t have what Arsenal have going forward and with the style Maurizio Sarri wants to play at Chelsea this season, it sould be a very tough afternoon for Benitez and his side if the likes of Jorginho, Hazard and Willian all show up.

s for Chelsea winning the Premier League, they have a long way to go before they can seriously challenge Manchester City for the League title.
