Powerhouse addresses transfer move after Newcastle ask if £55 million deal can be done

Brighton midfielder and Newcastle United target Moises Caicedo has addressed questions about his future by saying he’s “focused only” on the south coast club.

Brighton were determined to keep the Ecuadorian for the long-term but must resist the interest from the likes of Newcastle, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea
But speaking after Brighton’s 2-2 draw at Leicester on Saturday, Caicedo has admitted that he is just focusing on his football right now – he told The Argus: “I am focused now on Brighton. I am here, I’m playing every day.”
He added: “What happens outside doesn’t trouble me, nor does it take the focus away because I’m focused only on here.”
Recent reports have claimed that the Toon, Arsenal and Chelsea have made contact with Brighton and tested the water for Caicedo asking Brighton if they’d be prepared to sell for £55m.
Brighton’s stance is that Caicedo is not for sale as the club set their sights on trying to secure European football this season.
