Newcastle boss Benitez looking to get exciting Chelsea deal signed and sealed!

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has urged the club to make a move sign Kenedy from Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer.

The Brazilian arrived at St. James’ Park in the January window and has helped turn the Toon’s season around and get them back into the top half of the Premier League, with two goals and one assist in his last three games.

And that has led to speculation a number of Premier League clubs were looking to try and nail down his signature in the summer, with his future at Stamford Bridge not set in stone.

But Benitez would be keen on signing the midfielder, telling the Metro: ‘We will try to our best to keep players if they are doing well and have more experience in the Premier League.

‘Now it’s too early and the target is to get 40 points and then start thinking about the future. We will see.

‘In January, when we brought in [Martin] Dubravka and Kenedy, they were giving us different things, competition in different positions and everybody was trying even harder.

‘I think that was a key factor, and after that, the team experience and mentality that this group have is quite good.’

Kenedy has the ability to be a real Premier League star in the coming seasons, if he is given the chance to prove himself.

And if he returns to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, his talents may be wasted as the Blues have far too many big names for Kenedy to break into the first team.
