Newcastle have opened formal talks to complete deal worth massive £40 million
Newcastle United have reportedly opened formal talks with Everton over signing Anthony Gordon.
With Newcastle looking to add some more attacking quality to the squad at the back-end of the transfer window – there was some stunning reports that an offer for Gordon was made by the Toon.
The young man is making a real name for himself in the Premier League, and it was believed that Eddie Howe was very keen to try and bring him to the club- but Everton had no desire to let him leave
However – The Daily Mail report that the Magpies are hoping to get a deal done with an upfront offer of £25million plus £15m in add-ons. But it is said Everton are asking for closer to £60m for the 21-year-old winger.
Chelsea are also keen and would reportedly be willing to loan Gordon back to the Toffees for the rest of the season.

Newcastle United are a club that many players would not like to join – they are growing into a real top side.
Gordon may not be the most exciting of players – but he could offer the side something very different – and his work ethic would suit the style of Eddie Howe.
So if the reports are true – we can totally see this deal being done over the next few days – especially for the money that is being talked about.
Everton are in serious issues after the sacking of Frank Lampard – so Gordon could be just one of a few players that may look to leave the club
