Newcastle to announce January deal after Simeone announces target Trippier wants to leave

Newcastle hope to announce Kieran Trippier in the coming days after Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone confirmed he wants to leave.

After months of speculation and rumours, the transfer window is now officially open and fans will get the chance to see just what type of players the board will look to sign.

The Toon are struggling way down in the Premier League and will need to splash come cash in order to stay in the top-flight and show that ambition to become one of the top teams in the English game.

Toon fans have been frustrated in recent transfer windows as the board never really spent any money, but now they are the richest club in the world, the fans expect, and it seems they are starting to make their moves early

Reports on the Sky Sports website has recently claimed that Newcastle have cemented an offer for Trippier.

Now reports on the TalkSport website have claimed that the Toon are expecting to complete a transfer deal for Trippier in the next few days, and have him available for the next fixture on the 15th.

The England full-back was the last player off the pitch as he appeared to say farewell to the Atletico fans following their 2-0 win against Rayo Vallecano yesterday.

And Simeone also admitted that Trippier now desires to leave the club this month, he said: “We want him to stay – he’s a very important player.

“But nowadays, when a player wants to leave, he cannot be retained.’
