Newcastle are plotting a big move to sign Everton star Dominic Calvert-lewin this coming transfer window

Newcastle are in the headlines alot over the last few months as there are alot of speculation and rumours about players that could leave the club, and players that could come in and get the side challenging once again.

Calvert-Lewin is a long-term target as Newcastle have been keeping tabs on him for the last two years, and the club’s interest is expected to increase ahead of Callum Wilson’s imminent departure from St James’ Park.

Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell recently confirmed the club will sell players this summer With Man United keen on Jarrad Branthwaite

“It is also important that I am completely candid with you,” Thelwell said in a statement.

“The reality is, given the regulations in place and the Club’s current financial position, we have to trade well. Working within such tight financial parameters makes the job extremely difficult. Whilst we want to ensure the team is as competitive as possible, we cannot lose sight of our central objective to protect the long-term stability of the Club.

“That does mean players will be sold, and also that every tool at our disposal will be used to secure new additions to the squad, including utilisation of the loan market. Both Sean and I understand the responsibility we have – and that is a responsibility which has to be our priority.

‘That may not be exciting to hear but, under our current circumstances, it is the right thing for Everton.”

CALVERT-LEWIN WANTED –

Newcastle are preparing a move for West Ham star Jarrod in the coming transfer window – it has been claimed.

Signing a right winger is a “top priority” for manager Eddie Howe and thus the Geordies have turned to longstanding target Bowen ahead of the summer transfer window.

Howe knows that he needs to keep on improving the side if he is to keep his job next season and trying to sign some proven Premier League stars should really make a difference next campaign.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastles interest in both forwards is “genuine” and they are part of a “very short list” of transfer targets.

The Hammers will be reluctant to let the England international go but the player could be tempted to finally make the move following David Moyes’ departure from the the London Stadium.

Bowen is one of of the best forwards in the Premier League and a player that usually bangs in a lot of goals for the Hammers – of course West Ham do not want to let the star leave the club.

Newcastle fans would love to see Bowen make the move to the club – but would it really be a step up for the player to make? Is it worth leaving a side that challenges for Europe for another side that challenges for the same spots in the Premier League?

Add that to the fact that United may have to sell before they can sign players – and meeting that £80 million valuation on Bowens head- we cant see this happening for the Toon this transfer window.

TOON FREE TO WRAP UP DEAL

It has been claimed that Newcastle United may be in with a chance of signing Valencia star Giorgi Mamardashvili in the upcoming transfer window.

Goalkeeper is going to be a problem position for Newcastle very soon, with Loris Karius due to depart once his contract expires, and Martin Dubravka rumoured to be leaving Newcastle United this summer too.

Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with a move to Newcastle in recent weeks but it seems that the Toon may also be able to sign Mamardashvili from Valencia at some point in the transfer window

HITC understands Valencia are now ready to sell as Interest is hotting up from all across Europe, with Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Juventus also in pursuit.

Fabrizio Romano has also suggested that the Magpies might have a chance to do a deal. He has stated on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the La Liga club have already signed a replacement in Stole Dimitrievski, with Mamardashvili now ‘expected’ to leave Valencia.

Romano wrote: “Stole Dimitrievski to Valencia, here we go! The Macedonian GK has signed four year deal, valid until June 2028. Mamardashvili, expected to leave with several clubs interested including Newcastle and Atlético Madrid.”

It should be a very exciting summer window for Newcastle fans once again as a number of players should be coming into the club and some players departing. Mamardashvili is a very solid stopper that would be an upgrade on what they have.

However – his £86 million asking price is alot more than the £40 million they could pay for Aaron Ramsdale – so it will be interesting to see which stopper Eddie Howe manages to bring in as he will need a new goalkeeper.
