Striker sends first message since confirmed Arsenal summer deal – ‘feels amazing’
Eddie Nketiah has opened up and revealed that it feels amazing that he has joined Crystal Palace from ARSENAL during the summer window, and ended months of speculation and rumours on his future.
Arsenal have been in the headlines alot of the summer window and saw a number of players leave the club, but also see alot of top stars make the move to the Emirates over the past few months.
Nketiah joined the ARSENAL Academy at the age of 14 and went on to make 168 first-team appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals and assisting seven times. He was also part of the clubs 2020 FA Cup-winning side and our FA Community Shield victories in both 2020 and 2023.
However – he was no longer needed at the club and on deadline day – Arsenal made the big announcement that the striker has joined Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.
Fulham posted on the club website: ‘ Nketiah concludes his time at Arsenal having netted 38 goals in 168 games – averaging a goal just under every 180 minutes played – and having scored his first Premier League hat-trick, against Sheffield United, last season.
‘He becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaïla Sarr and Maxence Lacroix in Palace’s squad, and will wear the Eagles’ No. 9 shirt.’
And after signing for the club – Nketiah said: “It’s amazing to sign for Crystal Palace – I’m excited to get going. Every time I come back to South London, it always puts a smile on my face, so it’s good to be back home.”
Chairman Steve Parish said: “It’s brilliant to welcome Eddie, a senior England international, back to South London – we are delighted he has signed for Crystal Palace.
‘I am confident that his energy, talent and hunger to succeed will endear him to his new teammates and supporters alike.”
