Arsenal fans get update after move made to sign 38-goal striker
Gunners star Eddie Nketiah is closing in on a move away from Arsenal after Nottingham Forest made an opening offer to try and get a deal done for the talented striker.
The academy graduate has played a big part in the Arsenal squad this season, but has largely found himself on the bench on a weekly basis under Mikel Arteta.
It is no secret that ARSENAL are eyeing up a striker this coming summer window – which means that Nketiah would fall even further down the pecking order at the club – and that has led to speculation that he is a player that the Gunners are willing to sell.
That has led to reports that the likes of West Ham and Newcastle are interested in a move for the player, as both clubs knows that they need to add another striker to the attack, although that £30 million asking price is a bit high.
That has allowed Nottingham Forest to show an interest in the player and they have made a move for the striker, although Arsenal still want £30 million for the Gooner – football.london’s Arsenal correspondent Kaya Kaynak has provided more information on Nketiah’s imminent exit to Nottingham Forest.
‘Forest’s opening bid of £25million was rejected by Arsenal who are hoping to secure something in the region of £30million for Nketiah. It is thought that a deal is edging closer although Forest are also exploring a move for Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, who himself has been linked with Arsenal in the past.
‘There is confidence within the club however, that Arsenal can agree a deal with Forest for Nketiah.
If Nketiah were to leave it would take ARSENAL‘s sales this summer to over the £70million mark. Smith Rowe could bring in up to £34million after his departure, while Mika Biereth’s move to Sturm Graz is valued at up to £4million and Brooke Norton-Cuffy’s move to Genoa could be worth up to £3.5million.
‘The club have also gained significant sell on clauses for Omari Hutchinson and Mark McGuinness, while add ons have been triggered in Bernd Leno’s move to Fulham.’
