Shock Manchester United target Christopher Nkunku has been told that he would be mad to leave CHELSEA and join the Red Devils, amid the latest rumours that he is looking to leave the Blues.

Nkunku was signed before the start to last season for Chelsea, and although bis first season at the club was hampered by injuries, he has had a much better campaign this time around and is scoring goals for fun.

The 26-year-old appears to have overcome those problems this term and has been in impressive goalscoring form, contributing 10 goals in 16 games. But the vast majority of those goals have been in the Europa Conference League and the Carabao Cup

Nicolas Jackson has been criticised for his wayward finishing since his move to Stamford Bridge, but is seemingly the player that Enzo Maresca believes will be the club long-term number one striker, and has been given more opportunities to shine under the Italian.

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Nkunku may look for a move away from Chelsea, with PSG just one club that are reportedly very interested in getting some kind of transfer deal done for the player, but it seems he will not be leaving yet.

Manchester United have reportedly shown an interest in getting the player all signed up when the transfer window opens up, and now, As per The Telegraph, Chelsea aren’t fully opposed to letting Nkunku leave in January as long as they can recoup the full £52 million ($66.9m) that they paid to sign the Frenchman last summer despite the two parties still having a contract until the summer of 2029.

However – amid all the speculation – pundit Glen Johnson has claimed that he would be mad to leave the Blues for United: ‘His start to life at the club was quite tough when he suffered his injury and we don’t know if he’s fully over that yet,’ Glen Johnson told Betfred.

‘In spells, we’ve seen some really good stuff from him and as CHELSEA are going in the right direction, he would be mad to jump ship now.

‘They’re in a much better position now and if he can get fit and get himself in the starting eleven, then Chelsea have a good player on their hands. He just doesn’t look fully fit yet.’
