Werner to make impact, Chelsea slammed, Oblak responds to rumours, Chelsea make Joelson contact, Havertz claim, Aouar could leave in Chelsea roundup…
Rio Ferdinand has slammed Chelsea’s decision to sell Mario Pasalic to Atalanta this transfer window.
Pasalic moved to Stamford Bridge in 2014 from Hajduk Split after impressing the Blues scouts with some of his performances, but has yet to make a single appearance for Chelsea having spent much of his time at Chelsea out on-loan to the likes of Elche, Monaco, Milan and Spartak Moscow.
The 25-year-old joined Atalanta on an initial season-long loan in 2018 and helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to qualify for this season’s Champions League before agreeing to move to Lombardy for a second season last summer having signed a new contract at Chelsea until 2022.
But having been settled with the Italians for the last few seasons, he has been keen to make sure that he does not move back to Chelsea this summer and was keen to try and get the Blues to make the move for permanent.
The Blues paid around £3m to Hajduk Split for him in 2014, so will now make a decent return on that investment six years later, with the money surely going to possible signings that will come into the club and improve the side.
But after seeing the attackers impressive performances against PSG in the Champions League, scoring the goal that almost took them to the Champions League semi-finals before PSG made a late comeback, Ferdinand has slammed the Blues for getting this deal done
“Crazy, It’s crazy!” Ferdinand said on BT, “He was a Chelsea player for six years! They’ve just sold him for £12m.”
Lyon director Juninho has admitted there’s a risk Chelsea target Houssem Aouar could leave this summer.
After being nurtured by the club’s famous academy — which has been responsible for producing some of Europe’s current top players including Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema, and Corentin Tolisso — Aouar started to realize the value of his ability, and n 2015, aged 17, he made his first appearance for Lyon B.
In the 2017-2018 season, in the absence of Tolisso who had just moved to Bayern Munich, he made 31 starts in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, scoring seven goals and producing six assists — and the following season, his stock further increased as he made 44 appearances, scored seven goals, and made seven assists.
With Chelsea seeking to add some much needed quality to their midfield and there willingness to give the talents in the game a chance to sign, reports have suggested that Frank Lampard has been impressed with Aouar this season and is ready to beat the likes of Juventus and Arsenal to a summer deal
Now, amid all the speculation regarding the talented little man, Juninho has opened up and admitted that there is a real risk that Aouar could leave over the next couple of months.
Asked by RMC Sport about Aouar’s future, the Lyon chief responded: “When you have great players in the squad, it is quite logical that other bigger teams with greater economic power come to seek the players.
“There is a risk of losing important players.
“If we lose important players, I have already spoken with the president, we will have the right to balance the workforce.”
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has not ruled out a potential summer transfer switch to Chelsea.
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are ready to make a move and try to bring in Oblak to Stamford Bridge in a move that could cost the club a massive £100 million.
Oblak, who saw his four-season stranglehold on the Zamora Trophy – awarded to the best goalkeeper in La Liga – ended by Thibaut Courtois, has proven himself as one of the best in the world over six years at Atleti.
Probed on rumours linking him with Chelsea – and suggestions he would consider a move if the Spanish club’s ambition does not match his own – Oblak told AS: ‘This is not the time to talk about that, right now we’ve got Leipzig to think about.
‘I’ll assess the season when the last game is over, and hopefully we’ll have three more games left to play. Then there will be time after that to talk.
‘But first, Leipzig. I’m really looking forward to it.’
Michael Ballack insists Frank Lampard would be ‘100 per cent behind’ Kai Havertz at Chelsea when he is signed this summer.
It is no secret in the media that Chelsea are very keen to try and secure a transfer deal for Havertz and have been backed to complete a deal for the German star for months now.
However, it has been claimed that both Bayer Leverkusen and the Chelsea boards cannot agree on the Havertz fee, and that is holding up the possible £70 million signing of a player that netted 18-goals last season.
But amid all the speculation, Ballack, who played alongside Lampard in Chelsea’s midfield between 2006 and 2010, has backed the German wonderkid, 21, to develop into an even better player under the Chelsea boss.
He told Sportbuzzer: “I firmly believe that Frank Lampard would be 100 per cent behind Kai Havertz.
“He likes players who are very dangerous in front of goal and there aren’t many of those.
“Havertz is a player that Frank Lampard would help further, not least because he himself was a midfielder with an eye for goal, who was always moving into dangerous areas, looking to finish off a chance.”
Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Portuguese prodigy Joelson Fernandes, and have made contact with the players agent.
With Mikel Arteta seeking to improve a number of key areas of the pitch this summer transfer window, there has been alot of speculation in the media that he wants to spend some serious money to acquire the services of a new defender.
But despite many calls from the media and fans to go out and spend the limited money that they may have on players that will improve the squad, and that back-line, it seems that Arsenal cannot get away from their old ways.
Portuguese reports claim that Arsenal are leading the way to sign the winger, 17, as they prepare to activate his £41million release clause, as Fernandes has compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, having broken the icon’s record for being Sporting’s youngest ever player.
However, it seems like they may now have to fend off Chelsea this transfer window as reports in Portugal (Via the Daily Express) claim Chelsea have contacted Joelson’s advisor Kia Joorabchian to discuss potential deals.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already been spending some serious money this transfer window and is still looking to sign up players that will help this Chelsea side push on and compete for a Premier League title charge next season.
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic reckons new signing Timo Werner will have a huge impact at Stamford Bridge next season.
After months of transfer speculation regarding the young man, who was heavily tipped to sign with Premier League Champions Liverpool, it was Chelsea that activated that clause and got a deal done.
Frank Lampard knew that he needed to add some more goals to this Chelsea attack and after seeing Werner net an impressive 34 goals in just 45 games last season, the Blues made sure to get the deal done quickly.
Chelsea fans will hope that Werner can have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge in 2020-21, as Frank Lampard’s side look to close the gap on Liverpool and City at the top of the Premier League.
But as the players get to see the ability and quality of Werner on a daily basis, Pulisic has opened up and claimed that he believes that the young German will have a huge impact at the Bridge next season.
He told the Blues official website: “He’s a very dangerous player.
“I think he has some similar qualities to me and some of the attacking guys we have.
“He’s obviously very quick and very good in front of goal.
“He seems like a humble guy. He wants to come in and work.”
Werner should have a big impact on this Chelsea side as the man is simply a world class player that has the ability to find the back of the net on a regular basis, so even though he may need time to adapt to the English game, he will be a real source of goals for the Blues.
The Premier League should be worried about just what Werner can do, he has already prove himself at the very top of the game.
