Stopper wants Prem move, Lamps sent exciting Mount message, Chelsea told target adore Premier League ahead of possible move, Chelsea make Sancho decision, Cerezo addresses Oblak rumours
Onana wants Prem move, Lamps hails Mount, Coutinho adores Premier League, Chelsea make Sancho decision, Madrid address Oblak rumours in Chelsea roundup.
Phillipe Coutinho ‘adores’ the Premier League, his agent has told the likes of Chelsea as the Barcelona playmaker continues to be linked with a move to England.
Coutinho made the move to Liverpool just a few seasons ago expecting to be the immediate replacement for Andres Iniesta, but he did not live up to the expectations that Barcelona had of the Brazilian, and he was ultimately shipped out to Bayern Munich for two seasons.
However, there has been big rumours that he wants out of Barcelona and has set his sights on making a move to the Premier League, where a number of clubs are seemingly interested in a £45 million transfer deal.
And amid all the speculation, Kia Joorabchian explained that he and other agents are not sure how the transfer market will progress, but has admitted that Coutinho adores the Premier League.
“Because the Champions League runs until the 23 August, it’s going to be very difficult for players like Coutinho to make any commitments or moves before then,” he said.
“For him to make a commitment is very difficult.
“We’ve not kept it a secret that he wants to come back to the Premier League if he can.
“He adores playing in the Premier League and I think it’s one of his priorities, but he’s also not against staying in Barcelona so it’s very open.
“There’s a lot of genuine interest because he’s a great player, so there’s always interest.”
Asked if it would be a loan or if intersted clubs will be required to pay top money, Joorabchian said the market would dictate.
“I don’t envisage too many deals of that nature – 80 to 100 million. There will be a lot of 10 to 30 or 40million.”
Jan Oblak is an Atletico Madrid player “period”, says Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo with Chelsea reportedly interested in a potential deal.
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are ready to make a move and try to bring in Oblak to Stamford Bridge in a move that could cost the club a massive £100 million.
Oblak, who saw his four-season stranglehold on the Zamora Trophy – awarded to the best goalkeeper in La Liga – ended by Thibaut Courtois, has proven himself as one of the best in the world over six years at Atleti.
But amid the speculation, Cerezo is adamant the Slovenia international will stay at the Wanda Metropolitano: “I always say that Oblak has a contract with Atletico and is the best goalkeeper in the world. It is not strange that he has offers from other great teams,” he told Marca.
“I say the same as always. Oblak has a contract, he is an Atletico player, period. We have many players, our squad is the club’s main asset. Oblak is a magnificent player and in his position, unquestionably, there is no one to beat him right now.
“For me, Oblak – and I speak as an amateur – is the best goalkeeper in the world. Regarding Courtois, he is another great goalkeeper of those in the world and fortunately, both have played for us and with both we have been champions in many trophies.”
Reports have claimed Chelsea have made a decision on whether or not they will make a move for Jadon Sancho this summer.
The transfer window is now officially open and that means that Chelsea can go out and try to complete the transfer deals that they desire for the next ten weeks, as Frank Lampard needs to build a side that can challenge.
Lampard knows that he has a very exciting side under his arms, he knows that the squad will be able to compete with the very best, but he also knows that adding more top-class players to the squad will help this Chelsea side push on next season.
And there has been alot of speculation in the media linking Chelsea with a transfer move for the gifted Jadon Sancho, who is regarded as one of the finest and most creative young players in the game.
Since he left Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund just a few years ago, Sancho has been a creative machine over in the Bundesliga, but also has the ability to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
But despite all the rumours suggesting that Chelsea are prepared to pay that massive £100 million asking price, ESPN say the Blues have given up on Sancho and won’t be bringing the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge this summer.
It is believed that his massive asking price and the rumours that Kai Havertz is close to agreeing a transfer deal means that the club would have far too many players in the squad that play in the same positions, and for now, chelsea have decided to end their chase of Sancho.
Frank Lampard has opened up and hailed ‘brilliant’ England and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
Mount has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Chelsea this season after being given an opportunity to shine by boss Frank Lampard, as the club legend was not able to sign any players in last summers transfer window.
He has featured in over 50 games this season for Chelsea this season and helped the club claim a Champions League spot and reach the FA Cup final, where the Chelsea are clear favourites to regain the cup.
Now the Stamford Bridge boss insisted Mount will just keep getting better over the coming season, he told the Chelsea website: “He will definitely get better because he is so young,”
“When a player comes in and plays in their breakthrough year and is consistently in the team people sometimes treat them as though they are older than they are. But he is still young.
“You saw his technique from the free-kick. His is a special technique, and only top players can strike the ball that way.
“His all-round game for the season has been brilliant. His work ethic and training daily is brilliant. He has already contributed a great amount, but he will also get a lot better.
“This is just the start for Mason at Chelsea.”
Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana wants to move to the Premier League as Chelsea are reportedly interested in a £25 million transfer deal.
There has been a lot of speculation in the media over the past few months which has suggested that Frank Lampard is keen to offload Spanish stopper Kepa in the summer after becoming frustrated at the young mans performances on a weekly basis.
And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Lampard is keen to add a new stopper to the side, with Ajax ace Onana on the shopping list of the Chelsea boss after establishing himself as one of the best stoppers in Europe.
Onana helped Ajax reach the Champions League semi-finals last season and also helped the Dutch side regain their title after a few years of trying, and his performances caught the attentions of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United over the last couple of transfer windows, but it seemed that he had no desire to leave.
However, the summer window will be a different story and it has already been revealed that he has an agreement to leave Ajax and seek a fresh challenge in the game.
And according to reports on the Daily Express website, the top-class stopper has decided that he wants to make the big move to the Premier League, opening the door for Chelsea to swoop in and offer him a big contract at the club.
It is believed that he would be on the market for a small £25 million, which is well within the budget of Chelsea, and would be the cheaper alternative to number one transfer target Jan Oblak, who is valued by Atletico Madrid at £110 million.
If Lampard is desperate to add a stopper to the side in the summer, then Onana could be a great choice, he is proven at the top level and has the ability to be a real star in the Premier League, but Chelsea will have a battle trying to secure a deal.
