£180,000-a-week contract to be signed as Chelsea to FINALLY announce big Odoi deal
Fresh reports have claimed Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to agreeing a new contract at the club, which will be worth £180,000 a week.
There is no secret in the media that Hudson-Odoi is one of the most talked about players of the past 12 months after breaking onto the scene under Maurizio Sarri, and there has been constant speculation that he could leave the club.
German giants Bayern Munich are real interested in trying to complete a £40 million deal for the winger, despite the number of knockbacks that Chelsea have already issued the Bundesliga giants.
But after Chelsea boss Frank Lampard came out and admitted that he wants Hudson-Odoi to stay and sign a new contract, there has been some reports emerge which have claimed that he is close to signing a new contract with the club.
Negotiations have continued over the past six months, with the crucial breakthrough and verbal agreement between Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and Hudson-Odoi representatives reached in the last 48 hours, according to the Sky Sports website.
The report goes on to say that the winger will become one of the best paid players at the club and will receive a weekly wage of around £180,000-a-week.
It comes just days after Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admitted that he wanted the skilful winger to stay at the club, recently stating: “He is a player that came through the academy, he is a player that can be a big player for Chelsea and for England.
“We – as a club, for sure – want him to stay.”
There are many Blues fans out there right now who firmly believe that Hudson-Odoi will become one of the best wingers in the game and go on to be just as influential as Eden Hazard was at the club, so the news that he is in advanced talks to sign a new contract will come as a huge boost to many associated with the club.
The lad is talented and brings that excitement factor to the Chelsea attack, and now that Frank Lampard will hand him more of a chance to shine in the Premier League, the best thing for him to do was to sign a new contract to stay at the club.
So Chelsea need to wrap this deal up soon and announce he has signed, as it could be the bets deal of the summer for the Blues.
