£70k-a-week star is open to signing deal with West Ham
Defender Angelo Ogbonna is now open to staying at WEST HAM – journalist Pete O’Rourke has told GiveMeSport has claimed.
Ogbonna’s contract at the Hammers expires at the end of the season and the defender has been linked with a move to French club Marseille.
The 35-year-old has started seven out of the Hammers’ last eight league matches and is starting to look like the player that David Moyes relied on so much for last season.
The Hammers will hold off agreeing fresh terms with the 34-year-old until they are aware of whether they will be competing in the Premier League again next season, but he is willing to stay at the club.
O’Rourke told GiveMeSport: “Obviously, Ogbonna has come out and admitted that he would like to stay at West Ham, so there’s a willingness from the player to stay there.

“I’m sure any decision will come down to what league West Ham are in next season. They won’t be making any decisions on players’ futures until they know they’re either in the Premier League or dropped down to the Championship.”

Even though Ogbonna has been a big part of that WEST HAM side over the past few weeks – we would not br surprised to see him leave the club at the end of the current season, especially as there could be a number of players arriving at the club.
But we would also not be shocked to see him get that new contract that he so wants.
