Great decision! Defender Omeruo officially announces he wants Summer Chelsea deal to happen!
Reports have revealed Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo wants to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Omeruo, 25, is just one of a number of players that are currently out on loan for Chelsea that are unhappy with constantly being shipped out by the club rather than being sold, and he has now shown his desire to finally pack his bags and leave the club on a permanent basis.
Omeruo joined Chelsea back in January 2012 from Standard Liege’s youth academy and was tipped to become a real star at Stamford Bridge, but despite all the hype surrounding his talents, he still hasn’t registered a single minute in a competitive game for the Premier League side.
The Nigeria international is currently on loan with Leganes – his sixth temporary club – and he wants to make this one permanent at the end of the season.
“The football here suits my style and the club provides a stable platform for me,” Omeruo told BBC Sport.
“There is an option for Leganes to sign me on a permanent basis and hopefully that will happen.
“It will be a decision between both clubs, but personally I hope I’ll be a Leganes player for next season and beyond.”
Here is what we think on Omeruo wanting out.
The move to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis is the correct one for Omeruo as he will never get the opportunity to play for the first-team, especially as better players are failing to get game time under Maurizio Sarri this season.
It is long over due that he packs his bags and makes his own way in the game, so hopefully Chelsea will allow him to leave, as he needs to forget about playing for Chelsea and settle at Leganes for the next few seasons.
