Arsenal are reportedly holding “intensive talks” regarding a transfer for Amadou Onana, as they seek a replacement for Thomas Partey.

Mikel Arteta has tried to incorporate the midfielder into his side by changing his position in the side and messing around with the tactics of his squad, which has had mixed results so far this season.

But according to reports on the Sun website, ARSENAL have made the decision to allow Partey to leave the club once again after another injury hit season.

The midfielder is also one of the club’s highest earners, taking home £200,000-a-week.

And with questions being asked of Thomas Partey’s future at Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta is ready to reinforce his engine room. Onana is a proven performer in the English top flight, while also collecting nine senior international caps with Belgium.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, “intensive” discussions are taking place, and it is suggested that “things could develop quickly” from this point.

If Partey wants to play on a regular basis and does not fancy keeping the bench warm, then a move away from ARSENAL may be the best thing for him and his career.

However – splashing £90 million on Onana is crazy considering there are other areas of the pitch that Arsenal need to work on and we would much prefer that the club add a new striker to the side.

Onana is a solid player – but he is not the type of signing that will push Arsenal back into winning that Premier League title on a weekly basis and Arsenal fans will be hoping that this is just a rumour.

ARSENAL STILL HAVE MBAPPE CHANCE – 

Paris Saint-Germain striker And ARSENAL target Kylian Mbappe is reportedly weighing up a free transfer to the Premier League.

The Frenchman is one of the most talked about players in world football and a player that will be signed up for free at the end of the season after the decision was made to leave PSG.

Real Madrid are the clear favourites to try and sign the World Cup winner when his contract officially runs out – and there has even been some claims that Mbappe already has an agreement to make the move to La Liga.

But according to The Times, he is unimpressed by Real Madrid’s attempt to pressure him into signing a pre-contract.

It has been reported that Los Blancos gave the French forward a deadline of January 15 to agree terms.

And this allegedly has rubbed Mbappe up the wrong way, with the 25-year-old telling friends that the LaLIga leaders will not decide his future for him.

Speaking on his future recently, Mbappe was asked whether he knew where he will be playing next season, to which he said: “No. I’m very, very motivated for this year.

“It is very important. As I said, we have got titles to go after and we have already taken one. After that, I haven’t made up my mind yet. I have not made a choice.”

OSIMHEN TOLD TO MAKE PREM MOVE – 

Long-term Arsenal transfer target Victor Osimhen has been encouraged to make the move to the Premier League.

Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and the report from Italy claims that the Gunners are ‘already ready’ for a big summer assault on the striker.

Now amid all the speculation – Emmanuel Adebayor – who represented ARSENAL, Tottenham and Manchester City in his playing days – has told BBC Sport of Osimhen potentially following in the footsteps of his boyhood idol:

“He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel there (in England). I’m praying for him to move to the Premier League and show what he’s capable of.

‘The Premier League is the toughest and best (league) in the world. Osimhen has shown and done it already in Italy, I think it is the right time for him to move to England and replace his idol Drogba and do beautiful things.

‘He has all it takes to make a name and write a great chapter in England like Drogba.”

There are quite a few people that would love to see Osimhen in the Premier League and he is certainly a player that Arteta would love to sign.

However – Seria A is not the Premier League and it could be a massive risk for Arsenal to sign a player that needs time to adjust to the English game when there are options already in the English top-flight.

But Osimhen is a big player that would send a statement to the rest of the Premier League that is for sure.
