Worldie striker seriously considering move to Chelsea in January – £68M now price to pay
Victor Osimhen remains very interested in playing for Chelsea and is weighing up a move to Stamford Bridge in January, it has been claimed in the media.
Chelsea have been credited with a strong interest in Osimhen for a number of years and reportedly sent a delegation to Naples on deadline day to get a deal over the line for the striker ahead of the new season.
But a proposed transfer from Napoli to CHELSEA fell through and Osimhen went on to complete a season-long agreement with Galatasaray. but there is mounting speculation that the 25-year-old could soon be on the move again.
According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Galatasaray are keen to sign Osimhen on a permanent basis from Napoli – but the Super Lig champions are likely to face stiff competition from Chelsea.
Osimhen’s €130million (£109m) release clause ceased to be active when he joined Galatasaray on loan and the forward will be available for just €81m (£68m) in the winter. This figure will drop again to €75m (£63m) next summer
Reporter Iomie Stanley has told icfootballnews: ‘There is little doubt about Osimhen’s credentials as a top-tier striker. Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has developed into one of the most feared forwards in European football.
‘His explosive pace, physical presence, and clinical finishing have made him a standout performer in Serie A and the Champions League. In the 2022-23 season, Osimhen’s goals propelled Napoli to their first Serie A title in over three decades, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s elite strikers.
‘At Napoli, he consistently delivered goals, becoming a focal point of their attack. His ability to finish from both inside and outside the box, combined with his aerial prowess, means he possesses the complete package as a forward.’
