Announcement imminent as stopper ‘very close’ to agreeing contract with Arsenal

Highly-Exciting stopper Ovie Ejeheri is close to agreeing his first professional contract with Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta has one of the best academies in world football and the Gunners fans are constantly seeing that brilliant young talent brought into the first team on a regular basis.

And with the club looking to make sure that they keep the trend of bringing young talents through, Ejeheri is a player that they are not keen on letting leave in the next couple of transfer windows.

The young goalkeeper, who recently turned 18, is in advanced talks over a new long-term deal and is among a number of youth players the Gunners are keen to tie down, having recently given a new long-term contract to striker Folarin Balogun.

Ejeheri, who has been at Arsenal for 10 years, remains in the midst of a three-way struggle for his international services between England, Nigeria and Uganda. But the FA are keen not to lose out on his promise and called him up to their goalkeeper training camps last year.

Ejeheri has been impressing down in the youth ranks at Arsenal over the last few seasons and it has been very easy to see just why the club are very keen to get his signed up to his first professional contract.

There has been a few clubs also looking at his potential so the news that he is very close to agreeing that contract will delight many Arsenal fans, who follow the academy players just as much as the first team.

This is great news for the lad, but he needs to work hard to get a chance in that first team
