Defender delighted after official Arsenal deal, Partey wants move, Gunners make Nelson decision, Arteta wants to sign duo

Partey wants move, Arsenal wrap up McGuinnes deal, Arsenal make Nelson decision, Arteta still keen to sign Partey and Aouar in Arsenal roundup…

Arsenal have confirmed that Mark McGuinness has made the loan move to Ipswich Town, and he is delighted with the deal.

The Republic of Ireland youth international trained regularly with the first team squad this pre-season, and made an impact in the friendly match at Milton Keynes Dons in August, scoring in a 4-1 win.

However, with all the quality that has been brought into the club this summer, he is not quite ready to compete for a regular starting spot at the club and Arsenal have decided to let him leave on a loan deal for the next 12 months.

Arsenal announced on the club website, £Everyone at Arsenal wishes Mark all the best for his season with Ipswich Town. “The loan deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes”

And after sealing his loan move, He said on the Ipswich club website: “I’m buzzing. It’s been a long time coming so I’m really happy to be here. I spoke to Paul (Lambert) yesterday and met all the boys today. They seem a really good bunch of lads, there’s a good team spirit, and I just really look forward to hopefully adding to that.

“I feel like I’ve been ready to go out on loan for a while, but I picked up a few injuries last season unfortunately. This year I’m ready to push on. When this opportunity came around I was so excited to join a such a big club like Ipswich.

“I know there have been difficult times over the last few years here and I know how much this club means to the fans. That drew me in. I can’t wait to get started.”

Arsenal are still trying for Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey, Gunners fans have been told.

Mikel Arteta can be proud of the signings that have already made the move to the Emirates this summer, and they have all made an immediate impact and made this Gunners squad alot more competitive.

However, Arteta knows that he needs to keep adding to his squad this summer, and has been eyeing up possible deals to bring in duo Aouar and Partey, who would cost the club over £80 million to acquire.

And according to David Ornstein, the pair remain Arsenal’s main midfielder targets in this transfer window and Arteta is still hoping that he is able to get the pair signed up by the end of the summer.

“They are Arsenal’s top two central midfield targets for this window,” said The Athletic’s transfer guru. “They are trying.

“It could come down to who Arsenal are able to shift out of the club to free up squad space and also the willingness onf their owners, KSE, to sanction such investment. Evidence over the year or so suggests they will, however I can’t give you a definitive answer.

“Some I speak to think it is more likely they end up with one of them and to that extent, possibly more likely Partey because of the position he plays and Arsenal’s need to strengthen in that area. And also he has a release clause that makes it more clear cut unless Arsenal can negotiate lower or form some sort of swap deal.

“In addition Lyon are notoorously hard to deal with – tough negotiaitors. That could complicate things around Aouar, whose transfer fee is reportedly higher than Partey’s buy-out clause.

“On the flip side, Edu has a very good relationship with his Lyon counterpart Juninho from Brazil of course and also Aouar is represented by the same agency as Mikel Arteta.”

Reiss Nelson is available to leave Arsenal on loan in the current transfer window, Gunners fans have been told.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta knows that he has some very exciting talents at the club that could develop into real stars at the Emirates, even though he is seeking to add a bit more experience to the side.

The 20-year-old Nelson has been in and around the Gunners first-team squad for three years now, having made his senior debut in the 2017 Community Shield against Chelsea at Wembley, and is eager to make sure that he is part of the plans at the club.

Arteta has already recruited Brazilian forward Willian from Chelsea and has been linked with a number of other players as he looks to build a squad that can compete for further honours, and that has led to rumours that Nelson could be sent out on-loan.

Now The Athletic’s David Ornstein has made the claims about the Gunners winger, He said on the Athletic: “My information is that Reiss Nelson is now available to leave Arsenal in this current transfer window on a loan basis.

“It is likely he will go away, get game time and then hopefully for him and Arsenal, come back to the club a better & more experienced player.

“I think it’s at a very early stage of the process so I’m not sure conversations are taking place just yet with interested parties and I’m sure there will be a lot of them. Watch this space on a loan move for Reiss Nelson.”

Thomas Partey is reportedly keen on signing for Arsenal this window but Atletico Madrid are not willing to drop their valuation.

It is no secret that Partey is on the shopping list of Mikel Arteta and has been for months now, but we also all know that the club do not have the funds to complete a transfer deal for the midfielder, and so begins the frustration for the club.

However, according to reports on the Talksport website, Partey is keen on making the move to Arsenal this summer to test himself in the Premier League having become a top-class midfielder over in la Liga.

But Arsenal will not have it all their own way as the reports goes on to say once again that he will not be allowed to leave for any less than his £45million release clause, even if the Gunners included Lucas Torreira as part of the deal.

Kevin Campbell recently suggested Mikel Arteta must sign Thomas Partey to boost his defence: “You’ve brought [William] Saliba in, you hopefully get Ceballos back in,” Campbell told Stadium Astro.

You need a Thomas Partey back in that midfield for it to be a defensive rock. They might even get that Diawara from Roma as well.

“Now you’re talking you’ve got potentially two screens for that back four, Gabriel I think is going to be a key player if they can get that across the line.

“When it’s open season and you’re attacking teams, that’s when Arsenal are usually at their most vulnerable because they don’t have the legs when attackers run in behind off a breakdown.”

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal do complete a deal for Partey, he would be a great signing for the club that is for sure.
