“Partey now has to fasten his seat belt” as new Arsenal star backed to thrive in Premier League
Thomas Partey has been backed for major success at Arsenal by countryman Nii Lamptey – the first Ghanaian to play in the Premier League.
We all know that Mikel Arteta wanted to add a bit more defensive quality to his midfield over the summer transfer window, and we all know that Partey was the man that he wanted the most to add to his squad.
We also know that a deal was done, that Partey was given a big-time contract and that many Arsenal fans are excited to see just what the former Madrid man will bring to this midfield after making a very good name for himself over in Spanish football.
Now, the first Ghanaian to play in the Premier League has had his say on Partey’s move to the Emirates, and has assured the Arsenal fans that the new £45 million signing will be a massive success in the Premier League, Lamptey, 45, told Accra’s City TV: “Partey now has to fasten his seat belt.
“His move to Arsenal is good for Ghana. That is because after myself, Tony Yeboah, Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan and the others, the amount of Ghanaians in the Premier League has reduced.
“But now Jordan Ayew [at Crystal Palace] and Partey have taken over . I wish him all the best. I know the challenge is going to be tough.
“But I am sure he is mature enough. He has played at the highest level, so he should be able to face it.”
Partey may need a bit of time, he may need to settle, but he has already showed fans that he has the confidence to be a massive success in this Arsenal side, and we are sure that he will become a very god Premier League player.
Arsenal have been crying out for a player like Partey, now they have him, they need to utilize his ability.
