‘He doesnt want’ to leave Arsenal – despite monster contract offer made!
Arsenal star Thomas Partey is set to remain at the club despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, as per journalist Charles Watts.
Partey has been a player that has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this sumemr after the club decided to bring in Decaln Rice from West Ham in a deal that cost the club £105 million.
A move to Italian football or Saudi Arabia has been mooted for the midfielder – with all suggestions that ARSENAL would accept a fee of around £40 million for Partey this summer.
Arteta, however, is adamant he has no plans to part with the experienced midfielder, despite spending a club-record fee to sign Declan Rice.
‘Thomas Partey is a super important player for us and for me and we want him to be in the team, that’s for sure,’ said Arteta.
Asked if Partey and Rice could feature in the same starting XI this season, he added: ‘Yeah, they can play together and that was in my plans.
‘If you want to improve the squad and have more quality, we need players that can play together, but we need players in the same position that have to fight for their places.
‘It’s something that we haven’t had over the last few years and we wanted to improve that, and that’s why we brought Declan as well.’
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
On his YouTube channel, Watts shared his thoughts on the future and admitted that Partey does not want to leave the club.
“Very forthright, very certain comments from Arteta. It doesn’t really leave any room for doubt, I would say, in terms of Partey’s future. It seems as though he is staying put.
“People who I have spoken to and have been close to Partey have always said: ‘He doesn’t want to go. He wants to stay and be part of what’s happening at Arsenal’.”
SHOULD ARSENAL KEEP PARTEY?
Look, ARSENAL should be involved in alot of games this coming season – so need all the players that they can.
It is unlikely that they sign another player this summer unless one or two leave – so Partey will have a big part to play.
All indications suggest that he will be staying at the Emirates this summer.
